As some of you may remember, I was trying to do an Eldar force with no vehicles and lots of mobile jetbikes and warp spiders a few weeks back. Well, I've been painting a such and realized that I would have to buy alot of jetbikes. Also, the more I think about it, the less I like Guardian jetbikes. They make alot of sense in a mech VP denial list but when they are actually expected to deliver combat power, they sort of fall flat on their faces. I just really have a problem getting expensive models that close for a single lascannon shot against a tank.

Anyway, this new list is more stand-offish and really hopes to play at about the 36" range mark where all those nasty bolters and such can't get at it. It is by no means perfect and I'm sure that there are quite a few builds out there that will give it fits but I"m really sick of all skimmers, all the time. Tactics aren't anything special, so most of you should be able to figure them out. Comments and criticisms are welcome, abou thte only units I"m committed to are Eldrad and the warp spiders.

Eldrad- 210

10 Harlies- shadowseer, 8x kisses 242

3x5 Pathfinders- 240

8 Warp Spiders- exarch w/withdraw, 2x spinners 208
6 Swooping Hawks- exarch, skyleap, intercept,  168
2 Vypers- scatter laser, shuriken cannon -140

1x 3 War Walkers- 3x2 EML
2x 1 Wraithlords- EML, Bright Lance

47 Models: 1848 Points. Pathfinders, wratihlords, war walkers, and vypers hang back and shoot, swooping hawks rubber band or go after indirect threats, warp spiders hunt light fast vehicles, and harlies counter charge.

I like it.

I just don't like the Vypers but that's personal preference.

I'd drop one of them, find another 5 points (? not got the codex with me) beef out the pathfinder units myself.

I suppose it'd still be handy to keep one for last minute objective grabbing.

Vypers:

For 70 points you can get S. Lazer and S. Cannon

Or for 70 points you can get S. Cannon/S. Cannon and Spirit Stones, on a 4+ it's dead anyways, but the stones do provide you with some protection the other 50% of the time.

Current Armies: Blood Angels, Imperial Guard (40k), Skorne, Retribution (Warmachine), Vampire Counts (Fantasy)

6 pathfinders in a unit works significantly better than 5 because of a breakpoint in the numbers. 5 pathfinders will nearly always get 2 wounds (one at AP1) but 6 pathfinders get 3 about half the time (still one at AP1)

I use the scatterlaser/shuricannon (aka "speederkiller") vyper routinely, but I'm not a fan of the dual shuriken cannon version. I stand off at 36" most of the time and only close to 24" when I'm sure nothing can shoot back. The extra 12" of range is going to increase its survivability more than any vehicle upgrades you can buy.
