Having never faced it, but I might be in the future.....how do you deal with it?

Hope more old fools come to their senses and start giving you their money instead of those Union Jack Blood suckers...

What army are you playing, Carmen? Sisters? 'Nids?

The most effective thing I have seen against it is drop pods sadly. Though even that isnt that great if the poder doesnt time things just right. Its actually kind of fun because you dont know who is going to drop on whos head next.

Anyways, for Sisters: The straight non-circus army seems to be the most effective, unless in city fight. Seraphim are a nightmare for me, especially with hit and run. Exorcists are a given. Those two I fear the most.

For 'Nids: Shooty nids scare the pee out of lysander as well. Its not the high strength (it does help obviously though) its the amount of fire. Devourers (on anything, including gaunts) makes lysander feel the burn of attrition far more than assault.

Termies, quite reasonably, hate being shot at.

My biggest fear is flashlights however. Lots and lots of flashlights....

Actually, believe it or not, marines.

My list, at 1k looks like:

2 las plas squads with razorback Hbolters

2 tornados

destructor

Annilator

Librarian w/jumppack.

At 1.5K I add a 8 man assualt squad w/ fist

dread

Anotehr troop squad like the above.

My other list is a podding one.

Use the pods. It makes for a very fun game against Lysander.

Silly question, what do you stick in pods for tactical squads? I'v generally run trust your battle brother with a plasmagun and fist serg....Anything else?

Surely Drop Pods is weak against Lysander? Pods get a staggered arrival, whereas Lysander can reduce his turn 2 arrival chance to 25% and thus hopefully turn up in force on turn 3 or 4, when most of the pods are already down.

It honestly depends on the rest of the list.  I prefer Cleanse & Purify over TYBB as Cleanse & Purify is never wasted against specific opponents - you can always count on firing a second special weapon if you needed it, you can't always count on the enemy charging you after you pod in.  Plus C&P is cheaper.

If you weren't going terminator heavy in your pods, 2 Specials, PF Sarge, and possibly a few squads with BP+CCW instead of bolters.  And just take a whole lot of Tac Squads since you won't be mobile after you drop.

Longshot gave me some good advice for Tac marines in pods - you generally want to stick assault weapons in your Tac Squads since the turn after you drop, assuming you're not assaulted, you'll want to shoot your specials and assault something.

I've mostly found this to be true and I'll stick with Meltas in squads w/ PF Sarges.  I have found that Non sarge 6 Man 2Plasma squads work great as some damn durable suicide troops though.  They're always very useful IMO.

Agreed. Pods work better the later they come in, and Lysander has the edge there.

The trick is to use the terrain to make his scatters scary. Deploy right up against terrain, so that if he places in it, he risks scattering into you and if he places outside of it or scatters outside he has no LOS.

But even then it'll be tough with the list you have Carmen.
