I am building a Space Marine army, and I wanted to have my commander armed with a thunder hammer because I love the looks of it compared to the power fists (the list is not competitive) but I haven't been able to find a way to get a Hammer to give him. Did GW ever mould these hammers for anyone but terminators?

I just got in a bits order some left arm power armor thunder hammers. They're in the bits catalog under 'iron hands' accessories

With a little bit of Green Stuff, you can convert a Warhammer, "hammer" by adding some power feeds. That opens up a LOT of different options.

Use the Standard bearer's arm from the command squad, then clip it down and place a Chaos warrior hammer on the end and BAM! Thunderhamer. Did it at gamesday when they released the SM Codex. Looks sweet too.

Orks are like those neighbor children who aren't invited to your parties and they come right in anyway.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake;
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
