Just curious if anyone every figured out what the rules were for these things. I haven't been able to land a copy of the Update yet and was wondering if anyone can tell me how they work as compared to SM drop pods? Thanks, Wookie

The rules are too much of a disaster in the update to even begin to decipher them.
Rest assured they deploy like normal SM drop pods now.
Its whether (and how often) they can take back off and redeploy that is very, very unclear in the rules.
Someone should really email Warwick about this. . .

That doesn't sound very good. Can they transport ten men? I had heard it was five through another board......

Also, per the orbital lander rules, all landers are scoring units but pods are dedicated transports, which take precidence?

but i also heard that you can assault out of them too since there not like Space marine drop pods which as doors that open up, these the main body lift up and leaves the chaos marines on the ground kinda like a expess elevator too hell thing ?? that what i read and saw on the models

You can assault from dreadclaws because they land in your opponent's shooting phase.

Man, loyalist marines get boned if that is the case. It is not enough that chaos gets to summon demons who can m/s/a the turn they come in now they have drop pods that mean the dropped can m/s/a. Ugh

Loyalist drop pods are way way better than Chaos Drop Pods, unless there has been a recent update to the latter.
Chaos drop pods are treated as flyers, which means the entire enemy army has the option of shooting at them before they land.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.
But there's no sense crying over every mistake;
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
