In roughly two-and-a-half months the Wii has sold 4.5 million units, the PS3 700-750k. Sony is quoting a million, but this is how many are shipped, not sold. DQIX on the DS, well, it's going to make the massively popular handheld even more popular. Many developers are already hedging there bets. Many exclusives for the PS3 have been announced for the 360 (VF5 for example), and several have been canceled.
The high cost of development coupled with it's low market penetration has them freaking out. Namco said they needed to sell 500,000 copies of Ridge Racer 6 to break even. They are currently at about 30-40k copies sold. Part of it's to blame on their programming style over there. They scrap engines and write them from scratch for every game instead of using authoring tools, ect ect.
