Title pretty much sums it up. Here's what I know my opponent will be using for sure:
- Necron Lord with the teleporting thingamadoodle.
- Necron Destroyer Lord
- Flayed Ones
- Multiple squads of Necrons
- Scarab Swarms
- At least two full squads of Destroyers
- At least one monolith

With that in mind I created this:

<strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">HQ[/b]
1) Shas’o
- Plasma Rifle, Fusion Blaster, Shield Generator, hard-wired multi-tracker
2) Shas’o
- Plasma Rifle, Flamer, Vectored Retro-Thrusters, Stimulant Injectors, hard-wired multi-tracker

<strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">ELITE[/b]
1) 3x XV8 Crisis Suit
- Shas’vre: Plasma Rifle, Fusion Blaster, Target-Array, hard-wired multi-tracker
- 2x Shas’ui: Plasma Rifle, Fusion Blaster, multi-tracker
2) 6x Stealthsuits
- Target Array, 2x Fusion Blaster
3) 6x Stealthsuits
- Target Array, 2x Fusion Blaster

<strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">TROOPS[/b]
1) 12x Firewarriors
2) 12x Firewarriors
3) 12x Firewarriors
4) 12x Firewarriors
5) 20x Kroot inc. Shaper, 12x Kroot Hounds
6) 20x Kroot inc. Shaper, 12x Kroot Hounds

<strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">HEAVY SUPPORT
[/b]1) Hammerhead
- Railgun, Burst cannons, Multi-tracker, Target Lock
2) Hammerhead
- Railgun, Burst cannons, Multi-tracker, Target Lock
3) 3x XV88 Crisis Suit
- Shas’vre: Railgun, Plasma Rifle, Advanced Stabilisation System, hard-wired multi-tracker
- 2x Shas’ui: Railgun, Plasma Rifle, multi-tracker

Plan is pretty straight forward. Deploy and shoot anything that's metal and walking. Any deepstriking or infiltrating units (flayed ones, scarabs) will in be dealt with easi ly by massed firepower or kroot running in to finish them off with an obscene amount of attacks. If he tries to monolith me from behind, there are 5 railguns on call to deal with it. Destroyers will be dealt with by HQ and Broadsides, with massed firepower also applied here by firewarriors. Anything left shuffling towards me will face a very angry fireline and will be speed bumped by kroot rushing into combat (who are more than enough to tie up necrons with that many).

It should work, in theory.

Pretty solid list. Just a few things. First, puttng a flamer on a BS5 model is a waste and while the flamer will be okay against the Scarabs, I do not think it is worth it. It looks to me that this guy is supposed to be designed as a counter for these things. I would take a missle pod for insta-kills on the scarabs. Second, I have normally found taking vehicles against Necrons is normally not a good thing. Since everything has a chance to glance it, then stay most of the game not able to do anything. I would keep one of these because any Tau army needs one mobile railgun, but I would remove the other one for this fight and put in more Broadsides. Third, I do not have my codex in front of me, but I think all Broadside models must have the Advanced Stabilisation on them. Other then this, good hunting.

Generally speaking Tau vs Necrons is a one sided game. Necrons will win most of the time. Given that you can tailor against Necrons this is a good thing. You might as well as load out your shas'os with all the right toys... Plasma rifle and fusion blaster and probably missle pods since you got swarms and flayed ones out there. But I can't see a need for the sheild generator, otherwise HQ is fine... oh don't get the flamer... total waste.
Your elites, I prefer crisis suits but if you play sneaky your stealth suits can overwhelm with str5 shots, in that case drop the fusion guns on them. If you are doing fusion guns, put them on crisis suits. The problem with fusion guns is short range, I would sugggest runing a fusion gun on the crisis suit team leader and give everyone plasma/missle pod combo (the leader has 3 weapon systems) and then add sheild drones, tracker and all that ... I think with the new codex you can do this now.
troops are fine, I guess... hide them
Heavy support ... in 2500pts you will have to deal with the monolith before you can force possible phase outs so the railheads and broadsides make sense
Another trick I learned was this... always take a pathfinder team... give them emp grenades... its always worth it to have one unit especially with the changes in the markerlight rules... nothign quite like upgrading a unit to bs5 :-) or blasting a necron lord in cover with your railgun and denying him a cover save.
