After playing some games with my pods and becoming disenfranchised with them, I decided to go back to trying a more normal Marine list.

For 1500 Points I drop one terminator squad and one of the Las/Plas squads to 5 Marines instead of Six, and throw a Teleport Homer on the Master Commander.

I'm going to practice with this list for a while and see where it takes me, I'm much better at playing with this more kind of a reliable type marine list than I am with Pods.  Plus I just missed the Lascannons a lot of the time and I'm still pretty terminator heavy.

Is that actually fun to play with? You might as wll drop the pred to take that 6th las plas squad, then at least you will have the "internet list" theme.

It's only fun when the other player has gone for a complete cheese army and you can use this to decisively carve a hole out of them.  Other than that it's not very enjoyable to play with, but considering I've test games against 3 Falcon, all Jetbike/Skimmer Eldar & Godzilla Nids which isn't exactly fun to play against either I'm not so upset about taking something like this.

I'm trying to contemplate using this against a Pod army similar to what I was going to run and I'm thinking I could do pretty well against pods.  LD10 is decent against FOTD (as I've found out the hard way) and I can concentrate a LOT of AP2 firepower on terminators, and I have my own things that'll give me mobility. 

The Pred is there to just add a ton of shots, heck I'm considering dropping one Las/Plas squad for a second Pred.

You army is fine, if you are going to play competitively at a GT take the best army you can build. If you are doing well at a GT you will be encountering cheesy Eldar, cheesy Mech Tau, cheesy Demon bombs, cheesy Godzilla Nids, and cheesy Iron-warriors.

If you bring a soft fluff army, you will be end up getting mauled and end up playing against the other soft fluff armies. Some people like that, for me I can do that any time against my friends and in my home town. I don't need to spend a ton of money additional money for that kind of experience.

I personally enjoy fierce competition against killer armies played by skilled players. If you are interested in that kind of game, bring a good army and know how to use it most efficiently.

Drop the Predator, its dead weight in the list, add a FotD Librarian in Terminator Armour.
