Well, the title pretty much asks the question... are war machine projectiles missiles? The Golden Eye Of Tzeentch gives a 3+ ward save vs. magical and non-magical missiles - I was unable to find anything in the war machine section of the BRB, but I am still fairly new to fantasy, so I may have overlooked it elsewhere.

Yes. His Lord of uber-killing on a Dragon of uber-killing has a 3+ save against every cannon ball, bolt, rock, or bullet you throw at it.
