Firstly, it was fun!

It had Good support from the local gaming community, though there were only about 12 -15 tables each for Fantasy & 40K, and the only non-tournament event there was mad grox racing - oh, and painting contest too.

The preview minis were Mostly marines - Dark Angels, and Devs, and a few new Harliquins. They also had the Dark Angels Codex, and 2 Dark Angel boxed armies.

Codex Rumours (not OFFICUALLY confirmed ..... but confirmed)

Dark Angels, Armageddon (Apocalypse - whatever, the Epic @ 40K scale thing) Spacewolves, and then Orks. (I think, I was drifting)

Fantasy High Elves, Single Book for Fantasy Chaos, and then my mind drifted...

Next Season Conflict tournament tickets are dropping by 25% - down to $75 CDN, and will include a $15 event store voucher - so you can buy a conflict shirt - or not!

Myself I did about the same as I usually do at conflict, 2-2-1. Lots of fun!

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

Congrats Gaaargh. The event voucher is nice for those who may or may not want a shirt, but can use it for something else if they choose.

DA, Apocalypse, SW, Orks. Interesting....

Seems GW cant keep its mind straight on what its doing. Not that I am being negative, but I find the rumours to be all over the place on whats coming for the schedule.

Its the year of the space marine. Oh wait, next year is the year of the space marine too!

Really? Now that is a big shock if true. Chaos was bad enough but to follow dark angels (a very meh release for the most part) with yet another marine dex is pretty shocking. I'm guessing they're looking at the huge sales Space Wolves use to generate and thinking they will be a nice release for Christmas 07. All the while forgeting 4ed marked the end of shoot one unit charge another, the monopoly on hidden powerfists and the death of the rhino rush.

Single book for WH chaos? And before the VC? Who?s the source?

Also, did you read the DA codex, can you give us some more details? Updates to special rules, for example? And confirmation of whether termies are indeed limited to a single AC?

Up your nose with a rubber hose.

I heard they were combining the Space Wolves, Blood Angels, and a new chapter into one codex. My source tells me that the new chapter is made up of the returned remnants of (get this!) one of the two lost first founding legions!

Rumored fluff has it that at the height of The Heresy, the Emperor sent the legion on a long term mission so top secret and dangerous that their records had to be expunged and all contact with the Imperium was forbidden until their pre-determined return. Since they no longer had access to the Mechanicum and the gene banks, as the centuries wore on, they had to maintain their numbers with a homebrew mix of recovered dark age tech and (according to the Inquisition) necromancy, harvesting not the geneseed from their fallen brothers, but entire limbs and organs. As their numbers dwindled, they had to resort to harvesting compatible parts from their foes as well, to the extent that every marine is a hulking patchwork of mismatched flesh.

Apparently they're called the Flesh Golems.

Thanks for the report. I should pay more attention to these things - I probably could have gone. Next time maybe.

I've been somewhat underwhelmed. At least the Ork codex is on the (distant) horizon.

WHAAAAA!?!  Is the world ready for Frankenstein's Monster Marines?  And furthermore, when can we expect the Ghost Marines, thus completing the pantheon of Astartes Chapters who are based on breakfast cereal monsters?

EDIT: There are Ghost Marines!  I totally forgot about The Legion of the Damned!

I must admit that I'm intrigued about the Apocalypse codex, if for no other reason that the hopes for a plastic Baneblade.  No Orks make me sad, though.

Hey Gaaargh, did you hear anything about this? This is from "acolyte" at warseer:

Finally, they are working on a new table kit. It's made out of 'judo mat-stuff'-I'm guessing hard foam rubber. By the sounds of it, it's a bunch of tiles with assorted terrain features put on them that you can rearrange and stuff. It wasn't mentioned if it was painted or not.

Plans are also in the works to revise the look of the Thousand Sons (hint: something to do with death masks and gauze...).

Rumor also has it that Barph's Aquamarines were such a hit with the studio, that they're considering rules for amphibious marines. These won't be loyalists however, since they will be sporting new organs created by Fabius Bile himself in an effort to make them true gillmen. Alpha Legion is likely to be the chapter that gets redone.

Man, all I can picture now is a bunch of grizzled old marines sitting around a group of small distilleries, waiting for those single-barrel scouts to be ready.

Yes, this was confirmed. Cory - I mean the anonymous source, said they'd be 2 foot table sections - though he didn't say whether 2 foot square, or 4 foot by 2 feet.

Didn't get any pictures, I forgot my camera at home I played some well painted armies too, 2 of my opponents were chosen for the final entries for best painted.

Flesh Golems? EEwwwww.

Even if this was to happen, how the heck would you tell them apart from Plague Marines?

Man. No orks for a long long time. Guess I can get my eldar and Tau painted in that time...

I think I can feel the walls of the blood vessels in my brain straining under the pressure... GOD DAMN I don't want to wait for my Orks.
