So I haven't played Fantasy in about 5 years and have a bunch of 5th and some 6th edition Brett stuff. Including 6 PK's, Treb, new QK's etc. Basically I need much help. What are the new Brett tactics, what units are mandatory, are Bretts effective in 6th and soon to be 7th edition? Thanks for the help, I need everything I can get thanks again

For all your bravado, if the US Army decided to invade, Wisconsin is it?, in force supported by a heavy bombing campaign for the month before, weeks of shelling from battleships on Lake Superior, and a full tank thrust (crushing the cows beneath the treads), I don't think that your .22 is going to make much of a difference really... Asmodai (my new hero)
At some point these sorts of decision-making skills lump you into the same camp as the Lehman Brothers, the White Star Line shipping company, and mothers who smoke during pregnancy. ---Sour Clams |

Is this for the colonial? Brets are excellent in this edition. Your basic choices are: Mixed brets: knights, men @arms, and bowmen. These are probably overall the least effective, and hence will get the best soft scores. But it's more models to paint as well. Lance heavy Brets: lots of knights. one of the most effective builds, particularly if it's errantry Magic heavy: 10 dice of life magic plus lances is a fun to play, nasty combo. But it does require slightly more skill than the previous two to play. RAF: I'm painting this now. Universally hated by people that don't play against it enough. It's actually weaker than lance or magic heavy, but it's the least models to paint and absolutely brutal against certain things. Knowing you, I'd say going with a mixed list, but heavy on the knights, will probably be the most fun for you.

yep Colonial it is, was over at Warmonger boards and saw what fun you guys had at the NEWC and figure I can relearn and get a bunch of games in by April. Althought wife is having a baby in a month, but will find time somewhere. What is in a Magic Heavy? How do you get to the 10 dice. BTW are you having a 3000 pter this weekend at the den?

3000 points is november 12th. Magic heavy brets looks like this: Prophetess, 2 damsels (10 dice) and a bsb (on horse or a pegasus). 6-8 or so lances (collections of knights) of various sizes and types 3-4 pegasus knights and any extra stuff you'd like to cram in. Glue that together, come down to the Den and we'll play.

Sounds like a plan. What lore do you recommend for the Prophetess? Thanks as always for the help

Life for all 3. Life magic doesn't require LOS, which works well with ladies hidden in lances.

With the galaxy as large as it is the odds of the average guardsmen seeing and fighting a marine or MEQ are relatively slim. Unfortunately the guardsmen in your (and anyone else who plays IG's) army are the REALLY, REALLY LUCKY ones that fight marines ALL the time... |
