Bit of sad news. Empire's decided that their 40k sales are at the point where they can't dedicate weekend event slots to supporting it anymore. Thus this coming Saturday's tournament is going to be the last one I'll get to run there for the foreseeable future. If you were on the fence about coming, please try and make this one. -Ragnar

Quick note- Empire is also planning to have a Flames of War event on the same day, so PLEASE call or email Gordon at the store to sign up before Friday. Right now only four people have actually put their names down, which wouldn't worry me (for the last two only a few people signed up in advance but we had 17 and 14 players) except that we may lose tables.
Please call or email the store before Friday to confirm your attendance. Thanks.

Yes it does us as well. Internet sales and lack or involvement by the local gaming community has taken its toll other games systems have out shined 40K and we will be focusing on the games that are played and are doing well for the bottom line. 40k as had its day at Empire Games & Hobby but sadly that day has passed....

Why do people jump to these conclusions? I've heard what equates to, 'Well, this store doesn't even carry game X, so we shouldn't even ASK if we can play there, lest our underwear be stretched over our foreheads.' This is the last store scheduled event for 40K, not the end of all 40k within a thirty meter radius.

Reminder to anyone who missed it in the other thread: This was just the last SATURDAY tournament. We're going to be able to continue on Sundays (next tourney scheduled for May 20), and we're just starting a new 1750 league as well.
