Hello! You often see me here commenting on others painting, so now it is my turn!!! I present to you images of my painted Chimera for my IG!  Let me know what you think.  What needs improvement/changing?  I've tried some new techniques with the weathering and mud, and would like feedback.  Thanks for looking! (sorry about the photo quality, still learning the ropes with new digi!)

Thanks again for looking! I'm looking forward to your comments!

It's nice, clean, well painted, but with that not too special. Let me explain my self. Like it looks good and all but it doesn't leave that wow taste in your mouth afterwards. As far as the chipped paint look, when you paint it on think of if it was a real tank where would it chip? Like around the front/bottom and almost exclusively on the edges. So, those little patches on the sides just don't seem to fit in right. Oh and as far as mud I personally believe that you can never have enough splatter it all over the bottom half.

I think it looks perfect. Not over-the-top, very cleanly done... a little weathering would help if that's your thing, but otherwise, it's perfect.

Went digging through my old posts, and guess what? I've been hating on mat ward since before it was cool

I like the vision slit painting - well done. The rest has a nice utilitarian "guard" look. Quote nice and something you might see in a real miltary piece of hardware.

-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

Agreed. I go very simple in my tank paint jobs (simpler and worse than yours). The focus of your army is probably not going to be your chimera. With that in mind I would call it good (it is good) and move on. After all, you must have like 200 something guardsmen to paint right?

More of a technical thing, but the smoke launcher looks like it might interfere with the turret's aiming when targeting closer units. Again, that might be just a little tic of mine that would urge me to change.

Otherwise, it's a beautiful model. Nice job.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling, which thinks that nothing is worth war, is much worse. The person, who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

Its a chimera! Boring ugly functional vehicle. It would take a very very good modeller or a diorama to make it look impressive.

This is a good job.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

thanks everyone for replying. Since posting here, I also posted on WIP, and someone suggested black washing the entire model, and then working out some of the highlights again... These method has added a deal of depth to the model.. I'll try and get photos on soon. Thanks again.
