Thanks Narly thats great. The Vindicator conversion is really nicely done. Top stuff! Did you ever get round to painting it?
I've got some of the Silver milliput and the white one so I think I'll try those. I had read that you can blend them with green stuff as well to change characteristics of the putty. I Tried it once but to be honest didn't really see that much difference. Maybe I didn't use enough green stuff at the time.
I've seen brown milliput but had heard that the superfine and white type is better quality.
Started the interior of the Shadowsword yesterday. As usual with Forgeworld kits many of the peices don't fit together very well and there are some gaps to be filled (even after bending warped components in hot water). I really wish they would dry run their kits and check that they actually fit together properly before shipping them out to customers.
Actually I'm quite annoyed at their larger items. The quality control is really bad and its not on for the price they charge. Also i've noticed that newer releases and items are generally much better cast and higher quality than older large kits. They really need to go back and improve the moulds over time rather than just relying on the same old ones they used for their first releases.
The generator on the shadowsword is so badly cast that I'm probably going to send it back. The thing is I really can't be bothered to wait another week for them to send a replacement. So I'm seriously considering working with it and filling all the mismatches and huge fault lines with putty. I can't make up my mind but its a vital part of the interior detail kit and I really wan't to get this interior finished.
Suppose I'll just bite the bullet and completely repair the rubbish part.
Oh well, lesson learned... conversion packs and infantry maybe great... super heavies treat with extereme predjudice!
