Subject: Premade INQ scale terrain?

Just curious if there is 54mm scale terrain available that would work well with games of inquisitor. I know GeeDub made that one piece of terrain for the game, and while it was fabulously expensive when it was new I just missed one a couple years back for cheap on eBay ... But do other companies make stuff that would fit? I like the Australian Miniature Scenary line - especially the desert stuff - but I'm guessing it's hardcore 28mm. Thanks for all suggestions, including cries of "make it yourself Salvage!" - Boss Salvage

There's not a lot out there in the wargaming terrain world (in fact, nothing either springs to mind or could be found online right off the bat). You're better bet (rather than building it yourself) would be to consider looking in the toy department--the smaller scale "GIJoe" figs, Matchbox playsets, etc. could provide a lot of material.

Not really wargaming terrain, per se, but 54mm = 1/35 scale, one of the most, if not the most popular modeling scales, of which many, many companies make museum quality diorama accessories for, from modern times back to ancient history. Verlinden and VLS immediately come to mind as do many other similar companies, though their hydrocal/plaster (and sometimes resin) castings aren't cheap. Alas, part of the dearth of premade stuff is a lot of the stuff one would looks for in that scale people tend to just scratch build since, for them, the hobby is building the diorama, while we tend to want to play with it and go "PEW PEW PEW!" as we push our toys around!

Thanks for the scale insight Nyarla! Now just a pity that the FLGS I go to only carries GeeDub, marvel/dc comics, a few dozen card games and a crapton of rpg books - so no other companies' models to peruse, be inspired by and pick up on a whim I'll see what I can find online in 1/35th for cheap-ish. Barring that I can go the generic "break up a computer / typewriter / washing machine and call it inquisitor terrain" route popularized in White Dwarf ... - Boss Salvage

No problemo! You'll probably find the generic DIY route a bit better anyways, given the "heroic" proportions (ie: oversized weapons, hands & heads) of the Inq figs probably makes 'em look a little large against true 54mm(1/35) stuff. Check out railroad shops too, I'm not sure what railroad scale compares to 1/35, but I'm sure there is something close.

Look for old Airfix and Tamiya kits for 1:32. However I am sure Inquisitor is bigger than 1:32, its certainly not 1:35.
I would look for "dolls house" scale items. This would get you windows and doors. Make the walls youself paint it sombre colours and add skulls to taste.
If you want to play Inquisitor dont buy into the BS, play it at 40K scale. The options are so much better, each member in your =I= band is just another 40K conversion.

The options are so much better, each member in your =I= band is just another 40K conversion. I own close to a dozen INQ scale models, and with a few friends digging out and painting up there 54mm characters I'll likely stick with the big guys. I have played some 28mm INQ though, and what I liked was the ease of coming across terrain - o_O - and how easy and free conversions are. But actually, it's like you said, at 28mm your =][= band is just another 40k conversion ... Good call on the doll house bitz added to scratched buildings. Good 'un. - Boss Salvage
