Very nice for the most part. A little vanilla IW for my taste, but it certainly maximizes their strengths. The lack of much cc support could be a problem. The dreads are eratic and not very mobile, while the termies and lord may not arrive in time and cannot charge anything till the 2nd turn on board. I'd turn one of you las/plas squads into a cc unit with a.c. and power fist. The loss of one ranged las/plas is hardly going to diminish your firebase much and will add to the protection of the rest of the army should a few enemy assault units get within charge range

Thanks, I'm glad you like it.  I've only played the list once at 1500pts so far.  It's basically the same thing except no Defilers.  The dreadnoughts didn't betray me and I was able to gain a solid victory beating my friends Armored Company.  I only lost 16  marines (which is half of them) in total and one dreadnought got immobilzed.

I just don't like the 3x las/plas CSM, otherwise solid stuff. If it were me, I'd go heavy bolter and plasma on the 3 troops, using the 30 points saved to get a fisty AC on one of them. But if that much anti-tank works for you (especially against an all tank army!!) then wicked.

Good suggestion, but since where I play almost everyone plays marines with a fair amount of vehicles.  In addition to the Armored Company there's a Lysander-wing player and a Deathwing player.  So I've got to contend with a fair amount of terminators and vehicles, which is why I have all those lascannons.

As far as the close combat aspect of this list is concerned.  My Warsmith has 7 attacks base, so if I encounted a serious CC threat I can send my HQ unit after it.

Your Smith is a pretty heavy hiter. But in his termie armour he doesn't have much mobility once he's been deep struck, so if anything sizable reachs your firebase he may struggle. The other thing that occurs to me is that your retinue is a dual firepower/cc unit. Do you really need the reaper, since you play mostly power armoured or tank heavy foes?

The Reaper just extends the shooting range of that squad.  Having that extra range on just that single weapon has proven to be effective so far.  Plus with all the other ranged weapons in the army I can cover their advance reasonably well.
