But if the marine is already dead, all the Apothecary is doing is getting at that sweet sweet geneseed, who cares if it's akin to taking a chainsaw at the can of soup so long as he gets the two "golden nuggets" (geneseed) inside?

Which is exactly why (these being Space Marines) the Apothecary's tools should be located squarely within the culet.
