As the traitor astartes marched trough the murk, the five marines homed in on one target an eldar scouting group. Orcus was a bear of a man. Massive wings aborned the side of his helmet, and the skull of a black templar castellan hung on a chain at his neck, the massive chainsword in his hand, ‘howling death’ was in his right hand, while in his left, he clutched a storm shield. While he crushed debris underfoot the combat squad was advancing in a line through the fog, preparing to kill. Soon enough, the squad appeared at their destination, and changed their approach. They mag-locked their boots to the walls and ceiling and crawled along them. The eldar beneath never knew what hit them. Orcus was the first into combat. His mag-locks deactivating and executing a flip as he fell, using the Howling Death to shear off an eldar’s head. The next ones died when the night lords on the ceiling opened fire, and splattered three more across the landscape. The last one however flipped up its shiurukin catapult, and sent a hail of darts toward Orcus. The night lord batted them away with his storm shield and slammed the revving chainsword into the eldar’s side. The xeno dropped to the deck, coughing. Orcus kicked its faceplate and the casing shattered. Underneath was an eldar female. Looking only out of her teens in human years, but probably at least two hundred years old in eldar terms. Grinning savagely, the night lord gathered the spiritstones of those that had fallen, and arranged them in a pile. Drawing his plasma pistol he leveled it at the pile. “No!” screamed the eldar. “don’t!” Orcus smirked. “Why not?” he snarled The eldar sobbed. “Please! You cannot!” I will do anything!” At this, Orcus let a feral grin creep onto his hidden face. “Then here is what you will do…you will come with us, without a fuss.” When another marine had put the stones in a sack, they marched back to the ship ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ “Are you prepared brothers?” asked demogorgon. The terminator nearest him answered. “We are in midnight clad.” At this Demogorgon allowed a genuine warm smile onto his face. His soldiers were the living embodiment of terror incarnate. They were feared across the galaxy, and rightly so. the mere mention of the night lords could send people swarming off of a planet. These men were also his brothers. And they would die for one another if it came to that. For all the night lords did in viciousness and cruelty to others, they had their own twisted code of honour amongst the legion. Demogorgon himself had been one of the captains who had believed in the false emperor, until the ‘heresy’ when his gene father Konrad Kurz had given the legion true freedom, only to be stuck down by the hated one: M’shen.even though Kruze had vindicated himself, Talos Soul Hunter had made himself a hero by bringing the hated one to justice. Demogorgon replied to the termintor. “Ave Dominus Nox” As the night lords marched for a small ork encampment, a newly recovered item of massive worth, a nondescript chaos star hung about the terminator lord’s neck…

...urrrr... I dunno

Gorskar thought about it.
With the Dred's pilot exposed like this, it would be a simple matter to kill him.
But he had said something that had interested Gorskar greatly.
"Mar-eenz. Dem big armour humies."

Gorskar's eyes lit up as the thought of fighting his favourite enemy pushed aside all others.
Gently, he reached up and pulled down the blasted shoulder pad. The triple tear symbol was still there. Now he had the chance to add others to his collection. Perhaps even a helmet or two. Who knows, he may even capture some of those special shootas the warriors seemed to love so much, or maybe another of their tanks for his brigades.

The plain fact of the matter was that Gorskar could not - would not - pass up an opportunity to test himself against such foes again. Battles with the so-called space mar-eenz were worth their weight in teeth, and any Warboss worth his position could not pass up such a fight.
"Where d'yer say dey was at, dese humies?"
Around him, his meganobz looked to their leader. It seemed an agreement was being reached, not that it mattered to them.

C Company, Charkos company, were pulled off the line for two days to rest, and rearm. Well, off the line meant being placed at the rear, with the landers. These two days were given to the whole regiment, of what was left of it. Reinforces, The 127th Heraklian Dragoons took the 21st Ousian Riverine's place at the line. The regiment was to reafrm, refit, and treat as many wounded as possible to get as many of them back in the field. It didn't look like Lieutenant Garl would be back soon, so that young sergeant would take his place.

OOC: To be honest, I don't know how I need to go further with this RP. The possiblities are endless, I can't pick one. I think I need a player event to help me out...

"BROTHERS LET US HUNT THIS CHAOS SCUM." Yelled Feris and he was replied by his troops with a roar. They marched down the corridors.

"Im glad we are fighting togther again." Said the dreadnought.

"So am i brother." Replied Feris.

Suddenly a scream echoed through the corridor. The templars walked through a hall it was full of dead eldar their helmets shattered and flesh tore from the bone.

"This must be where the screams came from. It sounded like a woman screaming what should we do Marshal?" Said a Black Templar.

"Even that they are xeno-pyskers it is better then the forces of chaos butchering her slowly." Replied Feris

All the templars all knew that it was strange but they still had feelings and they hate chaos like the eldar. They ran closer to the location of the screams and saw a female eldar with a group of slaanesh cultists laughing and knifes drawn.

"PURGE THE HERITICS BROTHERS SAVE THE ELDAR" Yelled Feris sword drawn.

The templars charged in and weapons drawn in would be an easy battle the cultists were cowaring. The chainswords slashed at the cultists and butchered them. The female eldar got up thinking she was next.

"Go see your Farseer tell her i dont wish to fight you path is clear for you now go." Said Feris.

The female eldar thanked the templars and picked up her weapon and went.

But back on topic...

IC: ---------------- Somewhere behind the imperial lines, late at 'night' -------------------

The black, red and gold chimera screeched to a halt and several others painted in a naval boarding camouflage of blues, greys and blacks came to rest behind it. Marcus jumped from the top hatch and ran to an 'abandoned' hut made of sheet metal and wood - a typical ork building. Behind him came Marcus; guard detail - Cecil and his squad of grenadiers accompanied by Robur - who took up places against the wall of the shack. The other squads of grenadiers ran to take up positions by other shacks.

Marcus drew his shotgun from its leather case and racked the slide. He made the hand signal for his squad to stack up on the door. Robur and a sergeant named Daniel took the head of the breaching team, while Cecil covered the middle and two other men covered the rear. Marcus waited with another grenadier on the opposite side of the door the breaching team were facing. Marcus readied a fragmentation grenade while the grenadier readied an uncommon phosphorus grenade, a combination that when combined with incoming fire would make the short life of the occupants of the building a living hell.

Daniel threw the door open but Marcus paused from throwing the grenade, something was wrong. Before he could shout out, the building detonated in a searing blaze of fire and a thunderous explosion of noise...

---- 7 hours earlier ----

It was a bad day. Marcus had been through four meetings discussing various details of tomorrows assault, he had been searching desperately for links or clues to the missing explosives whereabouts, he had had an issue with the quarter master who hadn't supplied the fuel for the chimera transports and worst of all he had an inhuman headache. There were multiple strong psychic presences now on the hulk, some of which practiced dark forbidden arts bound by blood.

Now he had a meeting with the deathwatch team.

And no, he was not looking forward to it.

The superhuman giants sat on small, unadorned stools around a table with various maps and charts on it. Marcus stood at the head of the table but the arstates still dwarfed him.

"Captain Argus, you wished to talk to me?" Marcus began.

"Yes inquisitor. I need to know what our orders are for tomorrow" The man had a deep voice rich with age.

"They're quite simple captain, your to make use of the naval teleportation systems which have been brought on board the hulk to deep strike into this triangular bastion just outside the main fort itself. The bastion needs to fall as while it stands there are no blind spots, we'll be under fire from all sides with it there."

"You expect us five men to take a whole bastion?" The man seemed sightly surprised, but not deterred by the size of the task.

"You will have the dragoons moving to support you. Once the fort it secured, your to cut through into this section of hallway under the hulk and proceed to this point here, inside the fort. Then you will cut up into the fort thus quickly bringing the battle to a close." The captain nodded. "Hallways..." Marcus mumbled to himself just as an idea dawned.

"Inquisitor?"

"Captain, I have need of your skills to day. Would you sweep this area of hallways underneath high command."

"What are we to be looking for?" The captain was genuinely curious

"Anything suspicious, explosives, crates where crate shouldn't be, men where they shouldn't be: you find anything you tell me and if someone fires at you you make sure that at least on of them remains alive."

"Understood."

Marcus twisted quickly and jogged from the tent. "Robur, get me a vox..."

----- a few hours later -----

Teams of grenadiers scoured the hallways. Marcus had joined with Domini's engineers and Cecil's command squad - the two refused to make eye contact. They had been searching for well over two hours. The vox beads clicked as each squad completed a sweep and moved onto another. Marcus knew he was on the right track... and close too! He could feel those who were not with the imperials, but who were they? Orks, cultists, deserters?" Time would tell.

Light from the teams lamp packs flooded the dark hallway. Tension hang in the air like a tangible substance. There was no cover here, firefights in this confined space would be quick and bloody. Light glinted off the dusty, rust covered walls. Once what was supposedly a great battle ship was now a labyrinth of warp twisted metal and crazed shapes that would twist and turn a mans mind into mush.

Ahead light glinted off armour, or some weapon. One of the grenadiers shouted the code word "protect".

The response was a hail of autogun and stubber rounds. Few made contact and those that did bounced off the thick carapace armour that Marcus' team wore. Cecil's grenadiers reacted with lighting speed firing volley after volley of purple hellgun blast screaming down the hallway. Marcus saw a man's clothing ignite as the shot tore through his body and then the man was swallowed by darkness. The engineer's unleashed their revolver shotguns, filling the corridor with lead, and another man twisted back into the shadows as his body was shredded by the high powered shotguns.

A grenadier to Marcus' right yelled out and fell, his knee a mess of blood and bone. The unknown force ahead seemed to outnumber Marcus' team and they were making ground. Cecil shouted out the order to fall back and the grenadiers moved with the precision only years of drill brought. Half the squad moved while the rest covered. Domini's engineers followed suit copying the grenadiers.

Marcus ran out and gripped the disabled grenadier by his sholder and began to drag his backwards. The man screamed as Marcus yanked his backwards and the mans leg jerked up and down. Marcus swung his new shotgun around into one hand and fire, twisted the weapon around to grip the slide with a single hand and racked it. He then twisted the gun again and fired. He kept repeating the process as he slowly dragged the screaming grenadier backwards.

As Marcus reached a bend in the hallway Domini appeared behind him...

Marcus sighed as he realized what Domini had brought along with him and before Marcus could start ranting about what an idiot Domini was and how did he ever make the rank of sergeant in an engineering regiment and so on Marcus unleashed the full fury of a small, man portable RPG.

The rocket sent a burning trail of fire down the corridor. The hallway filled with the smoke and smell of rocket exhaust. The rocket bounced off one of the walls then the floor until hitting a man squarely in the chest. The entire section of corridor down the hall ceased to be. Instead it turned into a burning fireball that rushed up the hall. Marcus' team were bowled over the shock wave of the weapon, their cloths seared by the heat.

Well, that's one way to win a fire fight, bring an RPG to a gunfight. Marcus decided to not rant at Domini, mainly because neither he nor Domini would hear what he was saying. Instead he moved down the hall, dusting himself off. Small fires licked the corpses of the dead, or what was left of them. Blood slicked the walls and at the center of the former group of former men was a scorched but intact crate of high explosives in an armoured case. If that case had been open....

A man groaned, somehow he was still alive. Marcus knelt beside him. Robur moved up and offered a device that many inquisitors used to gain information from captives, but Marcus had his own methods. Placing a hand over the mans blooded forehead, Marcus let his power well up and flow through. It had taken years of training to hone it physic abilities to this skill. The man screamed and shook as the neural cells in his brain slowly burnt out as Marcus searched for what he was looking for, everything else burned.

When Marcus had finished the man's brains seeped from his ears, mouth and nose. It was a horrible process but traitors got what they deserved and Marcus got what he wanted. He wiped his hand on a cloth he carried then rose up from his stooped position.

"Call everyone back, there are remaining explosives to be found..."

Demogorgon watched in satisfaction as the orks were slowly herded to vulkaric’s workshop, with Dagon standing over them. If any tried to flee they were instantly gunned down. When they entered vulkaric's workshop they exited as work-servitors, combat-servitors, lobotomized meatshields or one of the techmarines more...eccentric creations. The techmarine’s full name was 'Vulkaric the unbound' as he was free to practice whatever perverse experiments with the apothecary as he wanted. Vulkaric and the apothcary combined their skills to make grotesque monsters, upon which they would brand the symbol of the VIII legion and send into the depths of the hulk. Or keep them to serve as elites among the cannonfodder of the battlefield.

"My lord!" it was Orcus “yes Orcus?” he asked amiably. “I found this.” A live young eldar female was dumped in front of demogorgon. The massive terminator studied her through his eyepieces. “So?” he finally asked. “What is important about one eldar female?” “The bitch was guarding something” replied Orcus. This intrigued Demogorgon “Oh? Pray tell.”

The answer was simple “There is more than one farseer aboard the hulk.” This intrigued the teminator even more “Well!” no reason to be barbaric is there?’

At this Orcus seemed confused “my lord?”

"Let us see if we can reach this farseer.” Announced Demogorgon. “Kardum! What is her name?” all it took for the terrorseer was a fraction of a second. “The farseers name is Eluna, my lord. Why?” Because brothers.” Explained Demogorgon “we need a change of plan. We cannot risk a single warrior in combat. By the way, Orcus?” “Yes lord?” “How many neophytes do we have ready for the carapace?” Orcus pondered for a moment “20, my lord.”

“They may have as much power amour as we can spare. Including the old captains amour.” Said Demogorgon, referring to the silver skulls captain who’s amour had been repainted and the purity seals destroyed, and whose silver painted skull now decorated Demogorgons belt.
“But sir!” Orcus protested. “She will try kill you on sight!” “I have the rosarius” replied Demogorgon. “And bring Kerzit” “Yes, lord.” Turning to a pair of tactical marines he spoke. “bring the blank”

The contents of the sack were these: the horribly mutilated and scarred form of the silver skulls captain, with chaotic brandings burned into his flesh and his power armour stolen. And the corpses of six guardsmen, horrifically burned, melta’ed and slashed, with miniature stars of chaos nailed into their flesh. Leaving the tent, it took all of Pazuzu’s stealth and silence not to disturb the guards until he could head back to the heart of darkness… When he had fled the imperial camp and gained a rough estimate of their numbers he set off through the hundreds of kilometers of metal, back to the heart of darkness

see? (just edit your post to go with the canon)

The inquisitor has yet to return to his tent, he's been busy you know... arranging a large scale assault, dealing with the effect of chaos blood magics and generally dealing with a possible terrorist attack on high command. Yeah, he's quite an active guy!

Eldar and humans cannot mate.. at least in the NEW fluff.. just know that I have no real intention of touching Slaanesh worshippers with a 40ft pole.. extermination from orbit is doable.

Tali'Zorah: I appreciate what you're doing here, Shepard.
Commander Shepard: Well, I care deeply about the quarian people.
Tali'Zorah: It's good to be back on the Normandy.
Commander Shepard: Let me know if it's too quiet for you to sleep, and I'll find you someplace louder.
Tali'Zorah: Hmm.
Garrus Vakarian: Uh, I was there when you two had your thing, remember? Just get a room and work it out.
