I think 10 hidden plasma cannons is probably quite good? Also its only 7 squads so it should be quite cheap.

10 plasma cannons are not really so hot, especially anymore with the template rules. The major weaknesses with this list is total immobility - I guess you could advance with your bolters, but that's about all the guns that work when moving - and lack of S8 or higher weapons. Maybe at 1000 or lower you could get away with no reliable way to kill AV14 vehicles, but at 1500 this is a real liability. Your powerfists will not cut it In actuality, taking lascannons in place of plasma cannons would probably work out better in most cases. Still death to terminators, but can scrag vehicles, big bugs better and has 12" more range. You suffer in the cases when the enemy is actually bunched together (pod marines, for one!) and you could kill droves with plasma, but that's kinda few and far between. That said, this is the second list with terminator veteran sergeants recently, which is an idea I'm really liking ... - Boss Salvage

This what I'd do. Drop the tech marine HQ and terminator armor/SB for the apothecaries. Take a Master in terminator armor with LCs and a 4 man terminator squad with 2 assault cannons. Leaves you with 60 points, enough for 5 plasma guns and 10 points for whatever (maybe chainfists in command squad). Reasons:
1) Techmarine HQ is crappy. I'd rather lose a plasma cannon and gain Rites of battle, a wound, a pip of Ld and access to assault cannons (which help shore up a weakness of the list, namely anti armor and anti horde).
2) If your going shooty you might as well go all the way. Not taking a plasma gun in those tactical squads is a mistake.
3) Terminator sgts are crappy. Mixed armor takes away their hidden nature.
4) Powerfists in 6 man squads shooty squads is kind of a waste. Yeah, it might make sense to use the wargear option you are paying for but in this case I don't think its worth it.
I'd also consider dropping 2 apoths. Reason being is you won't have overheat casualties as often as you think (1/18 chance per plasma cannon or single PG) and you can use the points elsewhere. This gives you more points to play with and opens up more options then I gave above (like 3 speeders instead of terminators for scoring, or even more plasma).
Overall I still think this list will struggle in any serious event (see Boss' explainations above) but it should do a bit better with some terminators and/or speeders.

I am assuming this means you are using Scions of Mars and Purity Above All.... firstly you dont need to pay for both terminator honours and armor... the extra attack and Ld comes with the armor so its just 15 points. Additionally you cannot have an apoth in the dev squad as the Purity Above All rule says that only vets and tac squads can take the apoth upgrade. <Unless I am missing something> Also I don't really see why you would take scions and not have some vehicles to repair. Cutting yourself off from using commanders i would darn well have something for that tech marine to repair. All in all I would say with a whopping 10 plasma cannons which are spread across 7 squads, which can only take advantage of these nasty guns when not moving, your going to be VERY limited on shots. Biggest lesson I have learned is that in the end 40K is won by sheer volume of everything... tactics of course, but numbers are the first key. Aztralwolf

I would start again. If you habvent bought the models for this army I would hold back on that too.
Plassma cannon are over-rated. Just because they cost the most doesnt mean they are the best gun. GW is odd like that. The lascannon and missile launcher are far superior.
Take a look around at other marine lists on the site. However for starters:
1. As a general rule ry to avoid too much wargear (except on an IC) you get more for your points elsewhere in marines and vehicles. For example, you are paying so much extra for terminator armour and weapons upgrades you could have made do with normal Apothecarys and had a squad of Terminators aswell.
2. Give each squad a priority role, anti tank, anti power armour, anti horde or assault. As you have marines they can do reasonably well in all roles, but add specialists appropriate to yor squad and vehicles mission.
3. If in doubt ask.

I'd just like to comment that I appreciate the way you got the unit costs formatted to form that nice double-helix pattern.

I doubt that is intentional, besides the gene sequence breaks down when it gets to the techmarine. Faulty geneseed?
