Hello feloow dakkites.

I'm finally done with the Space Wolf madness, having completed all the models I was gonna paint for a fried, it's up to him now to complete his army applying paint to the last 20 models that remain.

I am now stuck with some other projects I started a while ago, namely painting 1000 points of Ultramarines in one year, working on the army I want to take on a local tournament sometime next year and finally wrapping up a Tyranid army which has been postponed since the release of the Nid codex back in 3rd edition. And let's not forget my Tau!

As if I didn't have enough on my grubby little hands i decided to give bbirth to yet another army, namely a small contingent of Orks (small???), so yesterday I started working on a prototipe and came up with this guy. Let me know what you guys think of it, as I'd like suggestions on how to improve, namely on the skin with which I'm not really happy right now.

overall i think it looks really good, but the only thing i don't like about its flesh is how dark it gets in the recesses of its arms. if you lightened up the base coat it might look better.

I'm going to completely disagree with bbb.

Orks look best when they are dark and sgraggly (IMO). Your highlighting is great, but the problem is you've got too much of it painted the brightest color.

You need to leave quite more of the darker color showing with only a hint of the brightest green at the top. Orks are generally supposed to be a darker shade of green. The current flesh you have right now is more akin to how you should paint Grots.

Here's an old picture of mine. I think it can help illustrate what I'm trying to say (even though the highlighting isn't as well done as yours):

Dark, dirty and dingy, baby. It's the Ork way.

I was actually thinking I'd like to see an army painted like that and make each increasing rank darker. maybe the boyz are newly hatched.

Do not use the CLEAR dice!

Dear Whiny Space Marine Players,
you get 3+ armor saves on all your troops (save scouts), Assault cannons, a huge assortment of vehicles and weapons, arguably one of the best if not THE best tank in the game, funny helmets, and a partrige in a pear tree.

suck it up, space marines. You're the emperor's chosen superhuman warriors. stop whining like a guardsmen and take it like a superman!
