I have not seen a list like this used, only the troop section I know, as that is the basic deamonbomb kind of thing.

I wanted a ravenwing kind of army with all fast and a few deamonunits to boost troops with. This is what I came up with

1500 Pts - Emperor's Children Roster - Ravenclaw Bikers

HQ: Daemon Prince  of Slaanesh (6#, --- Pts)
1 Daemon Prince  of Slaanesh @ --- Pts
      Bike Mounted Sonic Blaster
      1 Mark of Slaanesh @ [--] Pts
         1 Warp Scream @ [0] Pts
      1 Daemonic Armour @ [--] Pts
      1 Daemonic Aura @ [--] Pts
      1 Daemonic Mutation @ [--] Pts
      1 Daemonic Strength @ [--] Pts
      1 Daemonic Visage @ [-] Pts
      1 Doom Siren @ [--] Pts
      1 Dark Blade @ [--] Pts
      1 Furious Charge @ [--] Pts
      1 Chaos Marine Bike @ [--] Pts
         Combi-bolter
      1 Spiky Bits @ [--] Pts
0 Favoured Chosen of Slaanesh @ [---] Pts
         Slaaneshi  Icon of Chaos
         1 Mark of Slaanesh @ [-] Pts
            1 Warp Scream @ [0] Pts
         1 Furious Charge @ [-] Pts
         1 Favoured Unit @ [0] Pts
2 Chosen Aspiring Champion (free) @ [--] Pts
Bolt Pistol (x1); Power Weapon (x1); Bike Mounted Sonic Blaster
            1 Mark of Slaanesh @ [-] Pts
               1 Warp Scream @ [0] Pts
            1 Daemonic Strength @ [-] Pts
            1 Doom Siren @ [--] Pts
            1 Furious Charge @ [-] Pts
            1 Chaos Marine Bike @ [--] Pts
               Combi-bolter
            3 Chosen Aspiring Champion @ [--] Pts
Bolt Pistol (x1); Close combat weapon (x1); Bike Mounted Sonic Blaster
            1 Mark of Slaanesh @ [-] Pts
               1 Warp Scream @ [0] Pts
            1 Furious Charge @ [-] Pts
            1 Chaos Marine Bike @ [--] Pts
               Combi-bolter

  • This unit breaks the bank. I am thinking of changing him with a normal bike unit instead, but it looks so nice on paper... can anyone give me some advice??, should I take it or not?

2X  Fast Attack: Favoured Noise Marine Bikers (6#, --- Pts)
5 Favoured Noise Marine Bikers @ --- Pts
Close combat weapon (x5); Bike Mounted Sonic Blaster (x5); Slaaneshi  Icon of Chaos
      1 Mark of Slaanesh @ [-] Pts
         1 Warp Scream @ [0] Pts
      1 Furious Charge @ [-] Pts
      1 Chaos Marine Bike @ [0] Pts
      1 Favoured Unit @ [0] Pts
      1 Aspiring Champion (free) @ [-] Pts
Bolt Pistol (x1); Power Weapon (x1); Bike Mounted Sonic Blaster
         1 Mark of Slaanesh @ [-] Pts
            1 Warp Scream @ [0] Pts
         1 Daemonic Strength @ [-] Pts
         1 Doom Siren @ [-] Pts
         1 Furious Charge @ [-] Pts
         1 Chaos Marine Bike @ [-] Pts
         1 Melta-bombs @ [-] Pts

  • I am aware that a core of the army like this is fragile and would make it a easy early target, but Hopefully I am able to hide them a bit in terrain to minimise casualties.

4X Troops: Favoured Daemonettes (6#, --- Pts)
   6 Favoured Daemonettes @ -- Pts
      1 Daemonic Talons @ [0] Pts
      1 Warp Scream @ [0] Pts
      1 Favoured: +1 to summoning role @ [0] Pts

  • I need a few troops. I do not know how to spend these points better then on deamonettes. I thought about steeds, but that would makle the list even stronger. As it is now it is a finesse army (as I see it) because of the low model count and a lot of the units (4 out of 7) are not available till late in the game.

So, what do you guys think, is this a competitive list, or does it need changing...

It seems to lack ranged antitank, but it has lots of rending and a S8 prince on the charge, so it should do all right... (could not fit the combat drugs to make it S9 )

Thanks for the response

Ive Done the raven claw before but i used mounts of slanneshi

It went like this HQ
Lighteningclaws, D STR, Doom Siren, spiky bits, D armour, D aura , Two chaos hounds
then Retuine was all AC on mounts of slannehi, lightenclaws, spiky bits, D STR and D armour, Doomsiren and Hounds too ( the points with the hounds they were meat sheilds since they out number the marines two too one)
I beleive that HQ was close too 850 points

four units of Deamonettes(12 man squad)
2 UNits of havocs,4 blastmasters and two sonicblaster ( tank hunter)
Second squad was five doom sirens and a sonic blaster with INflrate
One unit of deamonettes on steeds Unit size 6
It was a feared list for the five first games unit people found out how too take it out

Any one else?

Is this list ultimate chees (as far as can be judged) or is it a viable army for FUN-games (not overpowering, but it has an edge)

It's just hard to read and follow. I'd recommend writing it easier on the eyes to get more responses. I'm coming up with more questions about who has what than focussing on the list

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

*cracks knuckles*

Lord - MoS, furious charge, dark blade, doom siren, armor, aura, mutation, strength, visage, bike w/ sonic blaster, spiky bits

5 Chosen - MoS, furious charge, 2 AC w/ power weapon, strength, bike w/ sonic blaster; 3 AC w/ bike w/ sonic blaster

Fast Attak

6 Bikers - MoS, furious charge, 6 sonic blasters, AC w/ power weapon, doom siren, strength, melta bombs

6 Bikers - MoS, furious charge, 6 sonic blasters, AC w/ power weapon, doom siren, strength, melta bombs

Troops

6 Demonettes

6 Demonettes

6 Demonettes

6 Demonettes

Total

1500 points

42 models

That's what I figure the list is.  Didn't double check points or anything, but I'm guessing this is from an army builder program so should be legit

On the list, would be fun to play, but would give me fits with so many points in every model that starts on the board.  Problems will come with enemies who know to leave space between units, or pull casualties from your sonic blaster pre-charge fire (maybe you're smart and thinking to use the blasters for short range fire fight, not the pre-charge blitz ) to leave you stranded and without turbo-boost.  But then the demonettes get involved and everything goes to hell ...

But I like it, would love to see it see building and painting!

Boss Salvage- Thank you for the sake of my eyes.

Totally optimized? No. People would flip out against it b/c it is very, very rarely seen (fear the unknown, oh no, it must not be fair!!! syndrome)

I think it would be pretty fun to play, but horribly fragile. You have the 3 free Icons in your whole list, which most opponents will try to get those models removed IE: setting up LOS just to the Icon Bearer and Torrent of Fire, Mind War and Vindicares come to mind. The Lord should have a Personal Icon and I'd look at some Aspiring Champs getting one as well.

I'm not sure I'd take Furious Assault for your Chosen or Bike Units. You already are at a bonus initiative for MoS. Skilled Rider seems to be more helpful. However, your mileage may vary.

Neat army. I'd think it would look very cool on the table all painted up.

Instead of a lord, how about two lieutenants with icons? Drop the chosen, make 'em a regular bike squad and that'll probably make up the points while giving you more summoning icons and more warm bodies.

The one thing to beware of is the fragility of 6 daemonettes. At this point level it's not going to help, and four squads will probably be better than two.

Dakka on World of Warcraft:

MANNAHNIN: I know two guys who have had to quit the game cold turkey because the time investment required by it caused problems with their family life.

JFRAZELL: So in other words, nature is self selecting out those not fit to survive and breed? Hail WOW replacing savannah lions since 1997...

Mm, I will try to build it, if I can get 20 or so chaos-bikes. There is a bit of a cash flow problem right now (bought a house), so it will take some time to start up and more to finish (I am lousy at finishing project. It is not building that makes me sstop, it is the painting...

When I start it, I will be sure to keep you guys posted...

You should drop those chosen. They're ridiculously expensive and in 1500 pts it will be hard to make back all that you've spent on them. Better to stick to the prudent side and get a 3rd basic biker unit. I also agree that replacing your lord with two Lt.s might be a good idea to spread out your spearhead. The furious charge on the bikers should be dropped. There are very few opponents against which it would make a significant advantage. Better to put those points elsewhere.

My kneejerk reaction was to disagree, because furious charge can be so vital on things that will get the charge - bikers, jumpers, speed lords, etc.  But the bikers have warp scream happening too, so the I5 is more or less not as big of an advantage as it is for non-Slaanesh chaos.  All the same, I think I might still disagree, as the S boost is worth 3 a model if you ask me, and the I boost will come in handy I'm sure ...
