Someone pointed this out to me today-

With the trait scions of mars, you can take a power armor command squad, and give the IC leading it artificer armor, and only have 4 specialists and give them all termie honors and then terminator armor.  Then buy infiltrate for the entire squad.

Am I missing somewhere where it says that terminators can't infiltrate?

and only have 4 specialists

Minimum squad size is 5. Sergeant and 4 marines.

So far as I'm aware, there is no current rule preventing Marine Terminators from Infiltrating.

the person who pointed it out missed one key thing, in the power armour command squad listing it says :

the Sergeant may take Term. Honours and then choose wargear
The squaddies may take term. honours. no mention of wargear

so you could have a maximum of 1 character in artificer, 1 vet sergeant in terminator armour and 3 marines with term. hons. infiltrating

of course you could also add a chaplin in Terminator armour and a 1 librarian in Terminator armour but i imagine rolling armour saves would be a bit of a head ache

Drahcir, he's not missing anything, you are. That very same entry also states that Company Champions, Standard Bearers, and Apothecaries may also take items from the Wargear list, making it 1 IC in Artificer, 1 Vet Sarge in Termie, 1 Apoth in TDA, 1 Standard in Termie, 1 Company Champion in Termie, and 1 Vet in PA w/ Honors. All Infiltrating.

Edit: Fixed a spelled out one to numeral for consistancy.

The exact reading is: ALL SPECIALISTS WITH TERMINATOR HONOURS MAY SELECT ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT FROM THE SPACE MARINE ARMOURY. SEE THE SPACE MARINE ARMOURY FOR DETAILS OF THE NARTHECIUM AND REDUCTOR, COMPANY STANDARD AND COMBAT SHIELD.

Specialists are ONLY the Apothecary, Company Standard Bearer, and Company Champion.

So you MAY take those 3 specialists and the Vet Sgt in Terminator armor while also paying for terminator honours, but only those 4 marines can take the TA. All the others may only have power armor.

This is pretty cut and dry. Why would you shell out 40 points for terminator armor on your vet sgt and 35 on your specialists when this isn't even that effective. The premise is good but it just won't hold up. Trust me when I say there are far better ways to spend your points.

I feel somewhat less than redundant in stating that getting an infiltrating Termie via Scout Sergeant wargear is also less than useful as the wording can be interpreted in such a way as that the sergeant can't get a heavy weapon...

When soldiers think, it's called routing.
