You guys may have seen this elsewhere as I've been spamming it all over (Warseer painting comp, WiP march contest, B&C, CMON) because I'm always looking for constructive criticism. This was a project that was a long time comming, and I hadn't planned on doing it this soon, however the WiP march contest came up and I decided to push myself to enter it. It just so happens that Warseer started a competition as well so I entered it in that. The pics aren't the best but I think you can get the jist of things.

I dig the coversion, but as for the paintjob I would really think that the green is so dark and the highlights so modest that from any distance greater than what is shown in these pictures the green would just look like a big blob.

In short, while I'm sure you want to keep the green dark-looking, I really think you should consider adding some much more profound highlighting to it.

I like the modelling work of the conversion and the Green stuff elements are good.

But I have 2 main issues.

1st the Jump pack is very un characteristic for SOB. They use smaller jet packs and often incorporate wings into the design. Think House Spyer wing packs from Necromunda, or the swooping Hawk wings. This marine Jump pack is way too big and chunky in my opinion. I think because to me anyway its a very masculine design and Sisters tend to use more graceful and elegant wargear thats more distinctly feminine.

2nd As Yak said the mini is currently drowning in a sea of dark green. I like this colour scheme but I think you really need more extreme highlights to bring out the definition of the robes and the detail.

Work on the highlights though and your have a brilliant model! Nice stuff

The Marine Jump pack is unbalancingly large for a slightly-framed female. The Seraphim backpack would be ideal.

That's awesome!  I made the exact same character for use in my force and she hasn't failed me yet!  I like your take on it, but I have to agree about the jump pack.  I messed around with using the marine jump pack as well and came to the same conclusion that it's just too darn big, so I came up with this:

It's an upside down normal marine backpack with the main (round) exhaust ports cut off.  I added the wings from the laud hailer piece and added flamer shrouds for the actual jets (that idea was stolen from the guy who did the Hammer's Slammers project a while ago).  It's a pretty cheap way to get some girl-type jump packs if you can reproduce the wings.  You could probably do this much better too since it looks like you've got much more skill at sculpting than I!

P.S. My Cannoness is based on the St. Celestine mini.

I like the Marine jump pack, it gives her a bit of presence IMO. And yeah, a bit more highlighting

The idea is that it takes extra effort and time to write properly, and they’d rather save the time. If you can still be understood, what’s the harm? While most of the time a sloppy post CAN be understood, the use of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling is generally seen as respectable and desirable on most forums. It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.
