I'm working on an army that's got bikers with lances. I'm using the bret lances, and want to stick with them.

I'd like to model some with the lance 'down', like they're charging. Anyone have any idea what space marine arms I could use? The bret arms are too small, so I have to cut them off at the wrist. I have some space marine arms that let me model them in the 'lance up' position, but nothing charging.

The bikes some with an extended arm, but the elbow is all wrong.

You could take the bolt pistol arm and have your lance "tucked in". Otherwise you're gonna have to convert some bike arms to carry lances.

There's definitely at least one plastic chaos marine right arm that is straight and holding a pistol. IIRC it's one of those with the chaos arrows coming up off the gauntlet edge (hopefully if you've seen the CSM plastics you know what I mean ) - http://www.bwbits.com/product/43-0631

Also, there's a reasonably straight army bit in the SM commander box - http://www.bwbits.com/product/48-0526

Seems that it is the hand that is the issue more than the arm. You need a hand/wrist that is pointing down. Even a straight bolt pistol arm has a hand that would point a lance upwards.

You could check out the right hand on colonel schaeffer. That is "pointing" his sword forward. I believe there is also a steel legion lieutenant with a chainsword pointed forward as well. Hack the hand and wrist off and attach it just about any arm and you should get a decent effect. The lance should cover the smallness of the hand... if the hand seems to small at all.

Don't the bret plastics have the option of having the lance down configuration? You can hack off those hands and stick them to arms.

the Devastator sergeant has the straight left arm pointing or you could try the Company champion sword arm.  It is pointing the sword kind of downward a bit.

None of those have straight right arms.

I can handle sculpting a bend at the wrist, but I'm not up to doing an elbow.

But that bit from bwbitz looks perfect. Thanks.

Space marine bikers have a left and right straight arm. I'm always using them for my assault marines. I just hack off the hand gripping the handlebars and glue on the pistol hand and go with it.

At battlwagon bits check out the SM commander sets, the powersword below should give you a good arm.

How many posts are we going to get where people don't know their left from their right.

Bretonian lances only come right handed.

Then the elbow is facing the wrong way (the side instead of up).

its probably a little easier to model a lance instead of having to model a right arm. if you use the left arm you could use a pin vise and put a small dowel rod into the hand. just an idea. i fooled around with that idea when trying to make a SM librarian on bike.

The company standard bearer has a straight right arm as do the assault marines. Those are the only two I can think of unless you don't mind going with chaos in which case both the berserker and chaos squad have straight right arms.

Sorry but I don't know how to directly link pics

File the hand off the lance.  Then remove the power sword from the extended left hand and drill out the pommel leaving a hole large enough to accomodate the lance.  Cut the lance at the point where the old Bretonnian hand used to be.  Reassemble the lance (with a pin)  with the break inside the Space Marine's hand.

Just a thought.
