You can play it in offline mode for free. Playing multiplayer, however, requires you to log on, which requires you to have a premium account.

... yes, I do have the full version. The only difference is that I have not purchased a premium account, so I cannot utilize the multiplayer features.

To play the full version offline you just need to get the right files on your PC, this can be achieved by simply using a premium account on said computer.
However MP requires that you use a premium account to play.

JB: I like the concept of a free Shrike roaming through the treetops of the jungle. I'm not sure that I like the idea of a real Shrike sitting on my couch eating my Skittles.

Incidently, that slime pit was going to be my version of the Sparta bottomless hole. Only thing was when I tried to fill the hole up I fell in. Ah my luck is impeccable.

The software is quite buggy and already died of one memory leak. If it keeps happening, I'll set up an automated reboot every 6 hours or so to help it stay operational.

If you're unsure as to whether or not it's down, simply re-load Minecraft and if it prompts you play offline or try again, then it's down.

Mattieu~~~~ It's not that eldar are bad, it's that they require a lot of intergration between units. Also, that doesnt prove anything other than GW has a huge hard-on for marines, and, given the option between making a xeno the best psykers or making a marine the best psyker, they will 9 times out of 10 choose the marine.

Don't know why, but I get that too. In fact, the last time I tried playing, it was happening every couple of minutes, rendering minecraft completely unplayable.

If I remember correctly, from what I've read (I was looking to start up a server once  ), one of the current causes is slimes. Something about how they update their state when they die or something like that. One of the fixes just seems to be to either stay away from where they spawn or dig a small hole and bury them in it. Not sure if it's been fixed yet though.
Still a bit before my net fixes up so I can join in the fun, but did they ever fix the memory leak problem with the minecarts?

I've altered the server to reboot minecraft every 6 hours, so if something goes wrong I wont have to restart it. There is a bad memory leak in the software that keeps crashing it at the moment (every 10 hours or so).

Now do you see why I culled them in such numbers? They are an abomination! They deserve nothing but death!

The slime problem was with updates and caused slimes to be unkillable on multiplayer, this bug was fixed.
As for the black screen of death, it is a minecraft client problem rather than a multiplayer problem and is just down to buggy code.
