i know for every 3 bikes you have the option of taking a shuriken cannon. however does that include warlock bikes? if i have 5 guardian bikes with a warlock, can i take 2 shuriken cannons? it may seem like a silly question, however army builder would not let me take the 2nd cannon if i didnt field an extra biker.

This should be in YDMC.

But I am under the impression that the warlock does not count towards the total.

3-5 gaurdians = 1 shuricannon
6-8 guardians = 2 shuricannons
9-11 guardians = 3 shuricannons
12 guardians = 4 shuricannons

You will also notice that a guardian jetbike squad can have upto to 13 members. 12 guardians and one warlock.

The rule states that "every third Guardian Jetbike" so it's pretty clear that only Guardian Jetbikes count.

But doesn't the Warlock get added through a "One of the guardians can be upgraded to a warlock" style line. Since he isn't seperated from the Farseer like in the last edition.

Thus wouldn't he work like vet seargents and such where he counts towards that count for # of shuricannons?

Nope, the squad "may be accompanied by" a warlock--both jetbikes and infantry guardians. The warlock isn't an upgrade; he's a character added to the guardian squad.
