Lysander + 4 terminators, 2 assault cannon, tank hunter

Librarian w/Fear & Fury, 4 terminators, 2 assault cannon, tank hunter

5 terminators, 2 assault cannon, tank hunter

5 marine, lascannon

5 marine, lascannon

5 marine, lascannon

5 marine, lascannon

5 biker, 2 melta gun, + Vet w/ power fist, teleport homer, bolt pistol

Speeder w/ assault cannon

Speeder w/ assault cannon

Everyone knows the 5 terminator and 2 scout squad lysander list.  Until I get 5 boxes of terminators, I can finish the above list soon.  This also gives me a way of using up some excess marines I have lying around.

There is still 5 points left over, I can give the bike vet melta bombs.

Thoughts?

I appreciate people reading the post, but comments would be more helpful.

I would drop tankhunter from the Termies and put the skill on the tac. squads.

This would make them a "bigger" threat firing ST 10 Las-cannons at tanks.

How 'bout drop pods for the leftovers?

3 x dreadnoughts in drop pods, one venerable (470)
2 x 6 man squad with a meltagun, drop pod (260)

------------------------

However I guess if you're just trying to make do with leftovers, I'd probably try 6 man las/plas squads instead of 5 man las squads, and using 110 pt predators instead of 80 pt landspeeders.

As it is I don't think it's very good, but it'll do OK until you finish your army I guess It's not horrible.

But you're gonna lose those speeders and the bikes early on every game.

I agree about the speeders and bikes. I'm at a lose as to what to do with the list. I guess I can always take some devastators and use the terminator as clean up.

What about scout bikers? Then I can have a ravenwing/deathwing like army, but much cheaper...

Hmmm I think a Chaplin terminator in terminator armor attached to a squad of assault terrminator w/ furrious charge could handle anything in CC.

Wow, Franki... that's just such a strong argument on your part.  I mean, the lack of punctuation alone makes it virtually unbeatable.

How about you come back after you complete 3rd grade English, and try that again?

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake;
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

I remember playing 40K in kindergarten too. The maths are hard but the pictures help.

I guess it is cheesy when compared to the krootberserkerdemonlandraider army you have.

One mans cheddar is another man limburger evidentally.

One smells different than the other, yet some prefer the smell of one over the other.

Utah (Oh god)

Thats not the most cheese you can get...come on, you could have 6 5 man squads.

Or 14 ass cannons...

The comment in general is just propersterously silly.

"Oh No! Not FOUR lascannons at 1750 points. Thats cheese and there is no denying it!"

Course, if the guy played orks he would have no problem with lascannons being on the other side of the table.

1st Turn -- kill the Las Squads.
2nd Turn -- kill Terminators.
3rd Turn -- mop up.

Way too small. You're praying you FotD half of the army off the table, which means that Chaos or someone like Tyranids will eat your lunch. I'd heavily revise with more firepower.

If he does that though, he runs the risk of being cheesy!

OH NOES!!!!

Seriously who cares if its cheese or not, my 3rd ed DA list was 3 cannons 8 missile launchers 3 p cannons with two assault squads AND a librarian with FotD and FotA. That was serious cheese for most people. If you want a buttload of asscannons go ahead and go for it, and 4 lascannons that seriously could be much more cheesy. Id say....dangerously cheesy...

With a Lysander's list IMOP your not going to have a balanced list.  The list is solid.  But, there's 4 good  reasons that your not going to have a balance list  IMOP and they are.

1. Godzilla

2. Drop Army's

3. Tau's fish of fury

4. Eldar's  MEQ army builds

The list is not rank in order of what's hard.  There just the 4 reason's I came up with.

Your using the Tac. squads as a fire base to limited the mobility of some armies.  And to knock out things from the sky or to put them in the dirt.

the Speeders and bikes help grab Obj. or contest things at the End of the game.

There's really nothing else you can do with the list.  Just take the lumps of cheese and Win with it.

BEHOLD, TAU FISH O' FURY!@!!!!!!!!

Oh wait, lysander cares not! You know why, cuz skimmers maybe block roads of movement for infantry, but they don't block Assault Cannons.

Delete tau from the list up there and I agree with everything else you said.
