Here's a lustwing list that I've re-vamped since I last posted it.  Looking for fun but with some teeth.  At the moment, it's 8 points over.  I'm thinking of cutting the chainfist from the elite chosen squad, as they're more shooty than the other two squads.  Questions and comments welcomed!

HQ
Chaos Lord- mark, combat drugs, dark blade, close combat weapon, terminator armor, doom siren, mutation/181

Retinue: 5 chosen terminators- mark, rapturous standard, blastmaster, 3 sonic blasters, chain fist, aspiring champion (free), power weapon, close combat weapon, seiren/300

Chaos Lieutenant- mark, combat drugs, lightning claws (pair), terminator armor, doom siren, mutation/160

Retinue: 5 chosen terminators- mark, rapturous standard, blastmaster, 3 sonic blasters, chain fist, aspiring champion (free), power weapon, close combat weapon, seiren/300

ELITES
6 Chosen terminators- mark, 2 blastmasters, chainfist, rapturous standard, tank hunters, aspiring champion (free), power weapon, combat weapon, siren, 3 sonic blasters/389

TROOPS
12 Daemonettes/180
12 Daemonettes/180

FAST
6 Mounted Daemonettes/168

Total: 1858
Modeling-wise, I've got 16 grey knight termies with the chapter heraldry filed off and I'm using vehicle warp amps to represent the doom sirens, psycannons for blastmasters and I'm leaving storm bolters to represent sonic blasters.  Do you all have any recommendations for a good lightning claw terminator model?

cheers

maybe split the daemonettes into 4 squads instead of 2.

Daemonic Strength; find the points for it.

Chaos Lieutenant- mark, combat drugs, lightning claws (pair), terminator armor, doom siren, mutation/160

And again, though it's not *quite* as crucial here. If it helps, I never get much mileage out of Doom Siren.

6 Chosen terminators- mark, 2 blastmasters, chainfist, rapturous standard, tank hunters, aspiring champion (free), power weapon, combat weapon, siren, 3 sonic blasters/389

I find I prefer 1 Autocannon & 1 Blastmaster; gives more shots, and is better for trying to drop pesky AV 12 skimmers. YMMV.

I'd also find points to fit in some combi-meltas. It's one of the invaluable tools of the Chaos Terminator, and they're very useful in almost any game. The Rapturous standard, on the other hand, is pretty pricey (and it's where you've lost points).

Give some more thought to lightning claws on your rank-and-file Chosen, as well. The Mark of Slaanesh means any marine you kill with a lightning claw will not be swinging at you before he goes down; that's often fairly important. As far as modeling goes, the Chaos terminators have some nice lightning claw arms, but I haven't compared them, scale-wise, to GK bodies. (My clawed lieutenant is a GK body, with the old mechanized crab claws from metal Noise Marines.)

maybe split the daemonettes into 4 squads instead of 2.

Definitely do this. More scoring units, and more chances to have some come in, without the others doing so. The Lustwing works best with lots of terminators dropping early, and then a constant flow of daemons for a couple turns.

(At 1850, I'm really fond of more daemonette cavalry, too, but that'd require a fairly extensive overhaul of your list, or dropping 12 foot Daemonettes for 6 more mounted.)

Couple of questions: can the combi meltas fire as sonic weapons, or are they just bolters (i.e. I'm wasting 4 points per squad)?

No, no sonic blaster/combi-melta upgrades. Sonic blasters can replace bolters or combi-bolters; combi-meltas are different animals.

(I'd drop 2 Daemonette squads for 1 mounted squad; given adequate budget, paint up both, and experiment. The current metal daemonettes are lovely. But the 12 pts saved drops you back under 1850.)
