Ok, so my opponent for this game will either be necrons or death guard.  The boss and boys walk up into cc.  The grots provide a target screen and hold up any dangerous ballistic or cc units.  The hound pack attempts a 1st turn charge while the other kroot units sit in cover and provide fire support.  While the basie kills anything at range I don't want to tangle with in cc.

Where are your lootas? If you are using the klan rules (and judging from the lucky tatoos, you are), you have to take two mobs of lootas.

The clan rules modify the existing codex. So while lootas may be taken as troops, they're not required since slugga and shoota mobs are still legal. I have used a unit of two of them on a couple occassions and found them near useless. They pay way too much for the looted weaponry considering their BS and the likelyhood of blowing up. A very fluffy unit though, its just too bad it didn't translate well into the rules.

The Klan rules clearly state that you must take 2 "core" mobs. Deathskullz have lootas as a core choice. You have to take two mobs of lootas. Your list is illegal.

Taken straight from the pdf:

"The core mobs are the kind of Orks that most typify the clan. Mobs of this type may be chosen as Troops, regardless of which Force Organisation slot they would normally occupy. In addition, they may also be taken from the slot they normally occupy. For example, a Goff clan army may take Skarboyz as both Troops and Elites, meaning the army could take up to nine of these mobs in a Cleanse mission. They also have any restrictions on number removed (ie, 0-1, 0-2). A clan army must fulfil its compulsory Troops choices with core mobs."

And finally:

"Core mobs: Lootas."

I stand corrected. I've always focused on the "may" part of that rule. It certainly sinks my ship for the time being.

Thanks for the shakedown Skuz. Hopefully in the future they'll lower the cost of lootas so I actually enjoy using them.

if you take lootas in such small numbers, take them as morter squads.

A swell idea sir. It'll save me a fair number of points too. Thanks.

T.O.

IG always make the cheapest lootas, and you wont explode with a mortar. Why are you buying oilers if your only vehicle is the basilisk?
I still feel like there's something missing. To quote a friend, an Ork army should "Krump." I'm not feeling the Krump. Possibly because I dont know what Kump means.

Please put this on your sig if you know someone, work for someone or are related to someone who suffers from stupidity. Stupidity is real and should be taken seriously. You could be sitting next to a sufferer right now. There is still no known cure for stupidity and sympathy does not help. But we can raise awareness.... 93% won't copy and paste this because they don't know how to copy and paste

In the klan rules, you can take a mek for free in place of a Nob. You are required to take oilers if you do this.

Might I reccommend the following changes? You have 30 grots. Don't worry with all the KFFs. Use the codex list instead of the klan list for your original list. Take Nobz with power klaws instead. Add 5 points to upgrade lucky tats to a cybork body.
For example:

HQ

Warboss - power claw, cybork body, 'eavy armour and bionic bonce 112

Troops

20 slugga boyz-3 rokkits, Nob w/PK 231

20 Slugga Boyz - 3 rokkits, Nob w/ PK 231

20 Slugga Boyz - 3 rokkits, Nob w/ PK 231

16 Kroot - shaper 149

16 Kroot - shaper and evicerator 174

30 Grots - slaver, squig hound and power claw 129

Fast

10 Kroot - 20 hounds, shaper, evicerator, surefoot, stalker and fleet 296

Heavy

Basilisk - armour plates, grot riggers and indirect fire 132
Total points 1682

The slugga mobs with PKs will work wonders against ANYTHING. The grot screen will give cover to every ork in the army. Your Kroot should be infiltrating/ sticking to cover.

I'll give it a go. I've nearly always used the deathskull list. I've never used nobs in my mobs and its my first time trying out grots. I'm not sure what krump is either. The first thing that came to mind is that its Ork for farting. The 2 carnivore units stick to a large forest and pump out st4 bs3 shots all game while the hound pack smashs the most dangerous unit(s) to the rest of the army. The grots provide the screen till they find a juicy unit they can tie up in cc and slowly kill with the slaver. While the boys do what the boys to best, dustin enemies. And of course the bassie pounds the crap out of anything and everything it can. Thanks a lot for the help Skuzbag. As they say, "When in Rome Waaaaggghhhhh!"

You were corrected over a month ago.

And the 'may' part at the top may seem confusing, but the 'must' part at the end is pretty damn clear.

Ironically, they do. So do cheats.

LMAO Thanks for correcting this second correction mate. I've not been able to play my Orks more than a couple times and they're arguably the most ambiguous rules still in use. No need to be a smeghead.
