A Hammer's Slammer's style hovertank made by Old Crow Models (www.oldcrowmodels.co.uk). 15mm scale, painted with Vallejo acrylics.

Have a look also on CoolMiniOrNot (same pics):

How is this relevant, I hear you scream? Well, Old Crow also makes these guys, and many others besides, in 15mm. Probably the best in terms of near-future-ish looking vehicles out there.

Plus, even though it's resin, the casting quality is so good, it's obscene...

Comments welcomed.

Comments? Well, quibbles actually. The Slammers' tanks have iridium armor and steel skirts. Possibly your tank's skirts have been painted green, but they look like heavy rubber. Iridium shows a nice rainbow effect when it is heated, so I'd like to see that too, at least on the barrel. (However, I have no idea how I personally would achieve that particular effect, so I'll shut up.)

Very nice detailing. Very neat.

He's got a mind like a steel trap. By which I mean it can only hold one idea at a time;
it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

I'm following the scheme from the South London Warlords. I think the rubber look might be lessened if I went back and did a bit of rusting and metallic paint chips on the skirt. Problem with not leaving it bare steel is that bare metal looks like bare metal. Having the skirts painted some other colour rather than bare steel helps to break up the monotony. After all, Drake only mentioned bare iridium hulls, not bare steel plenum chambers.

As for the rainbow effect, I've no idea how anyone would do that...

But if anyone could, one of those guys in France would...

In your house, rummaging through your underwear drawer

I like it, a nice clean scheme.

You could find a body shop and steal a few drops of that hologram paint that they have for cars.

I've got some turrets, missile launchers and bases from Old Crow Models. By and large, their stuff is of top quality...

Looking forward to getting one of their excellent Raven gunships one day, and converting and using it as a proxy Landspeeder Tempest...
