Don't know if I'll ever build this army (I'm still trying to decide between Marines and Eldar after my last Guard army...), but this was a fun theoryhammer I ended up thinking might work well.

The basic idea is to have a good chunk of cover-hugging infantry than can always start where they want on the board with a pair of leader-bubbles to hold them there.   The scouting Sentinels add to their firepower, and can also deploy forward to keep the enemy occupied.  Then, mobile infantry moves in to either strengthen them or take objectives while the two Russes provide supression and draw fire.

I think this army would play uniquely on the board -- not quite a Guard Gunline, but with enough troops and tanks to provide more than enough to worry both sets of enemy weapons.  The biggest lack is counter-assault -- hopefully enough rapid firing and tank shocking (or tarpit sentinels) can deal with that.  What is the esteemed opinion of the board?

I would strip the Leman Russes down to to just hull HB, drop the storm bolters off the Chimerae, replace lascannons with autocannons on the sentinels, drop the flamer and meltaguns from the HQ - then I would add another squad to that platoon of yours and upgrade two of the autocannons to lascannons.  Option 2 would be to drop as above but add a hellhound with EA and Heavy stubber.  Consolidate 2 sentinels in the HQ

1) Upgrade the pintle Stormbolters to Heavy Stubbers. You can get the points by dropping a Veteran or 3 from both squads.

2) A 3rd PG in the Vet squads would be nice.

3) Keep the Sponsons on your Russes. 10 points for 6 extra shots is nice.

4) Concur with putting the FA Sent in with the HQ Sent. It's essentially a LC shot with reroll. Keeping them separate isn't a bad thing though.

5) Agree on upgrading the Platoon Autos to Lascanons.

6) I think you've put way too many points in your CHQ. Regardless of where you deploy them, you want them out of sight of the enemy. If you put them in position to fire their weapons, they'll be in position to get shot. A Flamer or 2 as a last ditch assault isn't too bad I guess. Your PHQ, OTOH, is a good place to load up on Special Weapons.
