I was thinking back to the time when GW put out Melnibonian models from the Elric series of books.  Later on, it appeared the same models were repackaged as Elves for Warhammer.  Add to this the fact that the Dark Eldar city in the web has many similarities to Elric's home city, ie. depraved and cruel populace, only accessible through a tortuous route of mazelike tunnels, and perhaps we can expect to see that the Dark Eldar will have the same thing happen to them as happened to Elric's people.
In the books, Elric turned traitor and led a force of fairly angry warriors through the maze to his city and helped destroy it.  The few surviving Melnobonains became mercs and wanderers on the planet after this.
It seems that GW has gotten a lot of their inspiration from Moorcock's books, so I can envision them doing a replay of his works with  with the Dark Eldar.
I admit it's been sometime since I read the Elric series, but what I remember of it corresponds closely with the Dark Eldar fluff, perhaps someone who's read those books recently could help me out on this.

The Melniboneans didn't go out to capture people for torture, though, if I recall correctly. They just tortured anyone foolish enough to attempt to invade their city and was captured.

Still, in some respects I think there is some resonance between the Melniboneans and the Dark Eldar.

And being in the webway, Commoragh could be hard to trash. And the whole thing of there being lots of factions within the DE and no one real ruler means that there isn't really anyone in the 'Elric' frame. Their vested interests (the consumption of the souls of the unfortunate) would serve to ensure that none of them actually want to destroy their own base of operations. Perhaps they only gain the buzz or hit that they need within the strnge and unique confines of Commoragh ?

They hang in Cadillacticah because Slaanesh doesn't have as powerful a grip on them in the webway.

Dakka. You need more of it. No exceptions.

What are you talking about? They're Space Marines, which are heroic. They need to be able to do all the heroic stuff. They fight aliens and don't afraid of anything. -Orkeosarus
