Dakka-ites, I'm starting a genestealer cult, and I need examples of genestealer names from the old background. I vaguely recall a short story in the Deathwing anthology where a Callidus assassin infiltrates a genestealer cult. Did the Patriarch have a name? Did any of the hybrids have names? Help a brutha out here.

going on what was written i think they were just thier imperial (preinfection) names. Agreed. The names of the people who were initially infected wouldn't change. Hybrids and purestrains were seen as family members and godly ones at that. There's no reason to think proud parents of a 2nd generation hybrid wouldn't name him along the standards of the homeworld.

That's reasonable, for any genestealers born on the planet. I managed to dig up the Deathwing book and the magus affectionately refers to the patriarch as Old Four Arms. Ian Watson actually speculates about whether genestealers have given names. Anyway, that's enough for my little warband. I can name the Patriarch "Old Four Arms" or "The Grandfather" or somesuch and just give the rest of the li'l xenos cuties "regular" names.

I like it PP. Grandfather is very appropriate since he is the patriarch of the extended brood brother family.

The old catologues used to have names for all the chaos demons, ie the plaguebearers, the demonnettes and the pink/blue horrors. such as screemer, screacher, warp snot, dribble etc. So the genesteelers could be bob and chaz
