Ok, so here is my first attempt at a 4th edition Eldar list.  Please let me know any weaknesses this list might have as well as ways to fix those weaknesses.  Thanks.

HQ

Avatar

Farseer with Doom, Guide, Mind War, and whatever the stones are that let you use two psychic powers per turn

Troops

10 Guardians with Shuriken Cannon

10 Dire Avengers with Exarch with power sword, shimmershield, Defend, Bladestorm

Heavy Support

War Walker with 2 starcannons

Falcon with starcannon

Elite

8 Howling Banshees with Exarch with mirror swords in Wave Serpent with t-l starcannon

6 Fire Dragons with Exarch with fire pike (get to ride in the Falcon)

Fast Attack

1 Vyper with Bright Lance

1 Vyper with bright lance

6 Swooping Hawks with Exarch with sunrifle, Skyleap, Intercept

The idea is to keep the army fairly manueverable, thus everything can at least fleet (except for the Avatar).  This all comes out to be just shy of 1500 points.  Ok, have at it.  What is horribly wrong with this list?  Is it balanced?  What are your opinions?  Thanks.

Since youre looking at so much mounted stuff you might consider getting rid of those small infantry units and pumping up your vehicles with holofields and spirit stones. The guardians and avengers will either get smoked or do nothing while the rest of your army swirls around doing important things. You can add more infantry too but I dont think thats what your going for.

Please put this on your sig if you know someone, work for someone or are related to someone who suffers from stupidity. Stupidity is real and should be taken seriously. You could be sitting next to a sufferer right now. There is still no known cure for stupidity and sympathy does not help. But we can raise awareness.... 93% won't copy and paste this because they don't know how to copy and paste

Leith, without those infantry its not a legal list. . .

Legion, it looks like a standard Mech Eldar list, I would advise you to go with a couple minor changes.

I would pull the Avatar to put in a Autarch on a jet bike with a reaper missile launcher, pull the guardians and replace them with a Guardian Jet bike squad with a single Shuriken Cannon. Pull the Star Cannon War Walker, and get a wave serpent with two shuriken cannons for the Dire Avengers who should lose the defend.

The reasons for these changes is that it actually increases your fire power for horde armies, gives you even more mobility, and allows you to pick and choose your response to an Escalation style mission.

Another interesting idea would be to go a different route is to have dangerous flanking units that have alot of speed, with a very dangerous center, You would deploy your Dark Reapers in cover near the back with the Avatar hiding behind some cover to act as a morale booster and a counter charge, the Dire Avengers would move to attack small units with high saves or large swarm type units, the GJB would use cover to Jump Shoot Jump similar to Tau Crisis suits and grab objectives, If you have the points you might want to grab a couple more vipers with star cannons or more bright lances for more tank busting.

HQ: 1 Avatar

Troops: 2 squads of Dire Avengers with Blade Storm, Power Sword, Shimmer Shield, Wave Serpents with 2 Shuriken Cannons and Vectored Engines.

2 Squads of Guardian Jet Bikes with 3 Guardians, a Shuriken Cannon and a Warlock with Destructor.

Fast Attack: 2 Vipers as seperate squads with Bright Lances

Heavy Support: 2 Squads of 5 Dark Reapers, with Eldar Missile Launcher, Fast Shot, & Crack Shot

My bad, i should have mentioned to take transports for them or take jetbikes instead. Guardians are obselite, though i like em.

As having fought this army, I can say that it has versatility.  I have lost one and won one with my Tyranid.  The hive mind is strong but this army destroyed my HtH bugs.  I was forced to reorganize and add some dakka.  I'm sure you all would be proud   I have however, proved the effectiveness of the total meleeFex.  Legion's list would more than likely lay waste to MOST armies with a little tweaking.  It's all in how it's used, and he knows well how to use it.  I am torn as to how the list could be bettered, although I do not know the Eldar intimately.
