Friendly league? Are you sure you want pure static guard, then? You've got 25 infantry-carried heavy weapons, backed by a pair of indirect basilisks.
What's your Inquisitor Lord have for a retinue?

That's a really static list. You've got tons of heavy weapons, 12 lascannons alone, but most of them are in fragile weapons platoons. I'd consider moving the lascannons into the line squads over the heavy bolters you have there now. Lascannon heavy weapons platoons are going to be huge targets and you lose three lascannons for 6 wounds. If you throw some in the line squads they'd get more shielding and would be harder to take down. I'm not a fan of that many heavy weapons platoons in general as they're so fragile to concentrate all your guns, but if you really want to take them I'd put autocannons or hvy bolters there as they'll draw less fire than the lascannons. Like Janthkin said, it's pretty static. If you cut back on some of the weapons platoons you could include some chimeras. With multilasers, hvy bolters, and a hvy stubber you're putting out 9 shots at 36". For only 97 points thats nearly the cost of the weapons platoons. Though they dont move around while shooting they do give you some options for last turn objective grabbing. If you do run chimeras, though, make sure to include a couple, preferably 4-6, otherwise they'll be the only armored targets in a all infantry list with hiding bassies. I know daemonhunters have a req of 3-12 henchmen for inquisitor lords and I assume witch hunters have a similar requirement, so you may want to add some goons to make him legal. Another thing to consider would be some flamers with the dropping sections. You've got a lot of meltas with the two vet squads and the two spec weapon squads. Arming them all with meltas may be a little redundant as you've got 12 lascannons in your army to deal with anti armor roles too. Maybe put flamers in the spec weapons. Two flamers can get wounds if you get good coverage with the templates and wound even against termies. Then of course you've got the AP 2 demo charge. On a similar note I'd consider plasma in the vets if you've got so much anti armor. Melta's pretty much only good against armor and plasma might serve you better against general meqs. I dont really know your environment, but it looks like it must be really tank heavy just from your list, so ignore my comments on weapon diversification if you really need that much melta.

The lists staticyness is partially compensated by the fact that everyone can deepstrike.... and by its numbers. I love heavy weapon platoons, as they allow me to waste a minimum amount of shots. instead of wasting 9 lasguns to fire one lascannon, I now waste 3 lasguns to fire 3 lascannons.... every single gun matters, even flashlights. Are they more fragile? Yes, of course... that's why I take so many. Are gaming environment has the normal amount of tanks.... killing tanks wasn't really what I was going for... more like killing marines without killing myself at the same time. To me, a plasma gun on a IG trooper is the best waste of 16 points in the game.... but I'm taking some anyway on the normal squads and just hoping they kill more of the enemy than they do of me. I'm thinking of dropping an anti-tank squad, a fire support squad, and getting another normal IG platoon.... that way there'd be more bodies... I just got to check my models and make sure I have enough guys to do it... what do yall think of doing that?

I agree with your tactics Angron. Specialized and efficient, I think thats what an IG gunline should focus on. With that said, if your main effort is killing MEQ's, I think using missile launders (gasp) rather than lascannons in those Heavy weapon platoons accomplishes alot. One, it limits the VP's given up each time you lose one and two, its still S8 AP3 48'' range fire power. If it really bothers you to include missile launchers just focus on their stat line and what's needed to drop a marine. Bassies are good, nuff said. I like the use of Special Weapon teams (though, Id prefer flamers in there instead of MG's). the Vets are good (though Id prefer PG's instead of MG's, they're dead anyway, whether the over-heat gets them or not). I like the platoon sqd weapons and the INQ. For your command squads, Id drop the lascannon and use autocannons for multi-shot skimmer control. Have you looked at Conscripts lead by a commissar to help out with your body count? On another note, if youre planning to use Drop troops for your mobility, I would commit to it a little bit more. Take one of your platoons, strip out the HW's and use grenade launchers (gasp). It lets them run around with impunity and still have 24'' range (with or without drop troops), not to mention S6 is decent at transport control. I know recommending missile launchers and genade launchers will most likely get me laughed out of this post, but for what youre doing with the list - I think they're appropriate.

Edited the list. Thanks for all your help. I thought about missile launchers, but I don't have the models... and I don't really like grenade launchers... they tend to not do anything. The skimmers I'm worried about are Armor 12... and one shot from a STR 6 gun just won't cut it
