It's starting to come together, a bit more detailing and touching up to do still.

Thoughts on how it's going so far? More pictures in the gallery.

A great job on the painting. I like the way you've gone for a different ethnic feel other than caucaisan!

That said, I guess the reason that caucaisan skin tones work better than most is due to the scale, and the fact that its easier to "detail" the various skin tones found in faces from all ethnic origins. In your figure it looks like the face is simply painted brown. I know that allot of detail is lost when photographing miniatures, especially if you don't get the lighting exactly spot on....so I won't be too critical on this point.

Another thing that has come from painting the face brown however, is the fact that the eyes stand out, and give the character a real sinister look. The bare metal figure looks a little forgiving, almost as though, if you say sorry and swear not to do it again he'll give you a second chance! This guy looks like "NO MERCY GIVEN, AND NONE IS EXPECTED!"

Great work!

Yeah, this is one of the things that still needs some significant work. There is shading there, but the shine from the still satiny matte coat is killing that in the picture. Either way, I plan to get a lot more contrast into the face so that it still stands out a bit more. I am happy with the eye effects though, so that's a start.
