This site is real good if you are in the UK. First place to offer % discounts similar to US mail order companies. 25% off as standard if you pay by cheque.

They have already begun a limited 'bits' service. They sell foundation paints singly, and at a decent price. These can only come from opened Foundation paint boxsets.

If a release schedule is all you're after, how is this any better than just checking the GW online store? All of the 'upcoming releases' listed on that site have been on GW's Advance Orders page, with release dates and pictures, for some time now...

So yeah, the discount is nice, but it's not really advance information.

insaniak: "If a release schedule is all you're after, how is this any better than just checking the GW online store?"

One because release schedules is not all I am after. Secondly because its easier to navigate this site than GW main site. Thirdly all the new releases are in a simple list, with no additional GW blurb added everywhere. If I want to pick through endless advertising I will buy a White Dwarf subscription.

The only downside is that there are few pictures as yet, but that is not a GW advantage, but GW being their usual dogmatic selves. Miniatures By Post apologised for the lack of images as they can only use the few GW send them. So I am patient with the lack of images as it isnt the website being incompetent, but GW trying their best to squeeze them without falling foul of UK trade laws.
That is in itself a good reason to support them, As they have a fast delivery turn around too I will give them a go next time I buy an army. Which will be in a couple of months time when I am ready to get the bulk of my nids.

Fair enough. Although you did entitle the thread with: "Good way to see the release schedule" rather than "Good place to order new miniatures"... which seems to skew the viewpoint somewhat.

Without trying to be argumentative here, as I'm quite willing to agree that elements of the GW website could be better, to find the upcoming releases you go to the online store and click 'Advance Orders'

Not exactly complicated

They're both still just a single page list... You don't have to read the blurb if you don't want to, although I often find it handy for figuring out what a given product actually includes...

Like I said, not trying to be argumentative, just trying to follow the logic... This mob might be absolutely fantastic to order through, but I'm honestly not seeing how a single page list with no descriptions, pictures or release dates is a better way of seeing upcoming releases than a single page list with pictures, descriptions and release dates.

Funny how they have "Sanquinary High Priest" for preorder when there's no such thing in the new codex. I bet they mean Corbulo.
