Does GW sell white spray primer anymore? I picked up a can of "Skull White Spray" today, but it doesn't include the word "primer". Is this just a can of white spray, or is this a can of white primer? Thanks! Mez

As far as I know that's all GW do now.
I use it for priming and don't have many probs (all the ones I do are human error - drunk usually, lol).

I'm pretty sure that GW sprays are the same as Design Master brand acrylics. My experience (just me now) is that they are not primers at all but acrylics and do not stick to metal very well. You can find Design Master spray acrylics at regular craft shops (at least in CA and UT). I recommend Painter's Touch white sandable primer by Rustoleum. Shawn G.

I second the vote for generic hardware store primers- I've been using those since Gorkamorka was the newest game.

Skull white spray is definately a spray paint and not a primer. Infact primer isn't paint at all, it just helps paint adhere to surfaces better. As far as white or whiteish (light grey) primers go I've been using Mr Resin Primer recently. I used it on all of my Death Korp Troopers and also my Tanks. It adheres to metal and resin really nicely. However Gunzyo Shangyo (or however you spell it can never remember) don't recommend it for plastic as it can eat it. Still I have used it on my part plastic part resin DKoK tanks and I've had no problem (touch wood). If you apply it in very thin coats and spray quickly it'll work nicely. They also do a pure white primer called mr surfacer thats very good. They are expensive in US and UK but you can order it cheaply in bulk from Hobby Link Japan and have it shipped. Thats what i do.

Mez, I've been using White Knights "Squirts" brand Undercoat for about 4 years now, and have never had a problem with it on minis. It's a combination white spray and primer in one - over a bare metal or plastic mini, it gives the same result as GW Skull White spray, without the adhesion problems. (It's also half the price...) You can get it at any Bunnings or other hardware store. Hope this helps.
