Space Wolf Conversions

Here are some conversions for a Space Wolf army we’re working on. There is a part 02 coming later that consists of bikers, and a display board.

These were done in tandem by Bill Devlin and Jordan Gledhill, both full-time assemblers at BTP. Pics of the finished product will be up in about a week. I interviewed Jordan after the project was assembled:

This project incorporates some bitz from Confrontation, most notably Wolfen heads which are presented here as metal or stone sculptures. An odd feature on Wolfen are their fused ears which look unnatural on what are supposed to be organic, living models, but works here as stylized metalwork.

There’s a lot of plasticard in here, both gridded and not. There is also a dreadnought pilot who will later have his sarcophagus filled with water effects and sealed off with a clear plastic window.

There are also some elements from the dollar store, a lot of the tubing is actually some kind of hair-bow thing. Taking a stroll through the hardware, dollar, or music store can provide some inspiration.

My favorite piece in the army is a giant hammer made from the track guards of a Leman Russ.  Now that’s a Mjolnir.

There are other models not pictured here, but they’re being painted now so that’ll come in a separate article when the models are all finished.

I’d very much like to hear feedback, suggestions, or ideas.
Shawn G.

I like the hammer but not on the dread. It is so big it looks as if at first swing/piston driven batter the entire dread will fall over. It's just too much.

I love the simple yet effective plasticard work. With just a little work you have created way more detail that is thematic without being ostentacious.

Thanks for that post, that made me laugh out loud.  I really don't like the sound of my voice on tape.  My wife says I sound nasally which is ugh.

There'll be a lot of pics forthcoming of part 01 on Monday/Tuesday-- the finished product.

The dreads are very nicely put together but just a little too OTT for me personally.

the dreds hammer is WAY to big. It should be half the size. I like the assualt cannon. The leader looks a bit on the thin side to be a SW
