Those look like Veteran Tactical squad sprues to me!
I've been unexpectedly asked to print 16 trophies for a local tournament this week, as the backup person after their main print guy didn't come through, so that's taking up all my print time. I've just been chipping away at supports for that Augury squad in my off time.

Yes, indeed. I have finished converting my (luckily unpainted) 2nd Edition Veterans into a 3rd Edition Veteran Tac squad armed with volkite combi-bolters. I'm now turning my Despoilers into Reavers.

So Saturday was a busy one for everything but hobby. Up early for tattoo appointment, then straight to hair appointment, then go see Nephloof who had his Lads Off yesterday.
So today, I’ll get stuck into the Legion Fellblade, maybe get some Saturnine stuff built too.
Automatically Appended Next Post:
Big Boy well underway. Haven’t put the side doors on, as waiting for the Dark Angels ones to come back in stock.
Really, really nice kit to work with. Everything goes together nicely, and zero warping on the plastic. Of course this is from about as fresh a mould as me might hope, perhaps castings in the future might get a wee bit of wonky in the Sprues. But this is a damned good start.
And from the way the Sprues are set up? Pretty sure we won’t just be getting the Glaive down the road, but the Falchikn too.

And done.
Naturally I assembled the two new Sponson Weapons. If I want to arm it with Lascannons, I can use the ones on my two Spartans.
Decided against Pintel Weapons, as I figured this lad has plenty enough Dakka as it is.
Really enjoyed the build here, and will be adding the Glaive and Falchion in due course.

That's a glorious chonker!
My problem is, despite each army having two Lord of War slots by default, in reality Lords of War (and Primarchs!) are a 0-1 slot due to the points percentage limit, until you get to 4000+ sized games. You'd need a 5200 pts game to field 2 "Baneblade" chassis tanks.

Is mostly for display. I’m a sad old git, and so don’t feel right shoe horning in a Super Heavy unless the scale of the game makes them make sense.

It looks great. I'm not sure if I could say that assembling 30k tanks is an enjoyable experience; I tend to find it a bit of a chore (partly because of the way they break down down the components, and also because the vehicles tend to be mostly tracks). But this one does look as though it would be fun. I was going to wait for the Falchion, because I find that the turretless versions of 30k tanks tend to look better, but I'm tempted to pick up one of these as well.
And in other news, I have nearly finished converting my SoH into a 3rd Edition compliant army. It's always painful to remove components that have been carefully converted and (in some cases) painted, but it's resulted in a more interesting looking army. I'm just trying to work out how to equip the Centurion I added to the army.

I’m of the generation traumatised by the original GW stab at separate tracks. When it was a standardised “one size doesn’t actually fit any all that way” sprue. Nothing ever quite lined up right leading to odd protrusions or unsightly gaps.
This? This kits tracks are perfection. Solid contact points, and a spot on fit.
There’s a pleasing lack of overly fiddly bits involved.

What about the join where the hull sides meet the top - is it clean?

Verrrrrry slight gap on mine, but that’s user error. Certainly nothing strapping it up for a bit whilst the glue fully sets won’t fix.

I don't expect any issues with the Fellblade hull, as there are none on the Sicaran and Kratos. The problem is Rhino and Land Raider hulls with their modular sides.

First one, first one, first one...
I managed to get the Fellblade done, dusted an d polished off this weekend - and I really think it does the part. Nice presence on the battlefield.
Also, to pic up on what Grotsnik has been saying, it really does go together well. One of the best GW has done in recent times, I would say.
Also got the new MkII Assault Squad done as well...
Next Death Guard project - I am going to be investigating the mysteries of the Typon siege tank!

Thankfully they’re fairly straight forward, barring pairing up the arms and the gubbins for the gunners.
Just don’t forget the little aerial things for the chassis,

Over coffee, I managed to finally finish building the Siege Breaker and Augury squad, which were interrupted by other printing commitments and the arrival of Epic Warpath
Now I really should get some more units painted before getting more models.
Except that I bought two Sicaran Venators ahead of the price... adjustment.

Ah so the Legion Rhino doors coul be used on these new superheavies?
Guess I'll hold on to my only doorset and save it until the Legion Glaive arrives. That one is just too gorgeous of a model to pass up, even if I never end up using it for games..

Well…..arse.
Settled down to build more of my first Saturnine box. And….oh…where did I put the bases?.
I think they’re in one of the storage cases. The storage cases I probably should’ve unpacked right now.
So built the quad turret instead. Got to say? It’s rather grown on me. Reckon if I aimed a list around Rapiers, these big boys may find a home? Automatically Appended Next Post: Found the bases!

I've lost track of quite a few things during my move. Some carefully-sorted bags of bits have ended up in the wrong box, and I might have been too enthusiastic in my pre-move purge.
Apparently these turrets are appearing in multiples in 3rd Edition lists. Can't say I like the look of them though. They're too big, for a start.

Artisans Of Vaul does a set of shortened legs, that let it sit on a base.

I think it looks pretty great, and will be adding it to my next two.

I am tempted to paint mine up as terrain. Well. The other one.
I think they’re also prime Armies On Parade Fodder. One it takes up a good chunk of the space. Two they’ll look solid as part of a trench work diorama. Maybe even as the centrepiece.
