but what possible player would have a matching force...and what kind of force...can´t imagine a tua player or any other player ammasing such a force than an IG player...with IG´s it wont get borring to have masses of pieces on the table... for my taste such a big force for a eldar or tau i would get bored over and over again to do the same models...but IG have plenty of third parties to get new models from...

The mud is looking pretty good so far!!! I like it. Though i think you need to make it look a little more realistic.
Try out some Dark brown brushed onto the lower areas of the chassis and armor plates. To try and give it a Slightly wetter look at the bottom. Though they look good, I think touching it up will make it stand out so much better.

As for the OC model with the big arm! I WANT!!! I am planning on picking up one or two of these for Counts as Atlus Support tanks! I have my custom Atlus to be used as a Super Heavy Tow, And these will be for my Russ's, Chimeras, etc.

I need to buy about 700 Guardsman still... Wallet Cries... I Cry... not because of the money. but the Countless hours of painting... Hah

This is a 1/35 WW2 hetzer I found on ebay for 10$ still needs the dozer blade in the front.

@Firecancer, I may have to mix the Graveyard earth with a darker brown to get that "wet look you speak of, but I have yet to devlan mud wash the tanks, it does make some changes as is, a heavier wash at the bottom may do the trick as well.

@Vik. I have a huge amount of Tau many vehicles and suits, I have yet to get them out and snap pics to show Dakka-ites as yet, I even have a 8man squad of SST for my Gue'vessa squad.

Yeah that many troopers, I have WGF Great coats/Cadians/Valhallans/Vostryoans/Kasrkin/Bauhaus/Catachan minis for my IG regiments, no boredom so far, and I am planning on getting some more soldiers from Bolt Action, WW-II Russians/Italian airborne/Polish cavalry/etc. BUT with Dust now making so many new minis for my use, Hmmmm.

@Deathshead420, Nice! light tank chassis in 1/35th scale work so well as WH40K tanks! That Hetzer makes a nice version of Devastator for the Marines. with plastic-card and the right bits, you can make a siege shield for that baby.

Somewhere i read about using model masters acryl and sand and brown foundation paint makes a awesome mud, has texture and weight to it. I'll look and see if i can find the post, just not sure which 40k site i read it on.

Meanwhile, I have new uniform for the crews of all armored vehicles, here are the most dramatic departures, but they work I think, first pic apparently the flash mis-timed. Base=Adeptus Battle gray, with dry brush of Codex gray, pipping is gore red, and the rest is easy. Collars are also red as well as epalettes.

the shaky 80 looks really good!

the officer uniforms i really like, they look really official and it fits their position in the ranks quite good and still sets them apart from the maintroops!


concerning your hetzer deathshade, i would recommend to you that you flesh out the barrel of that mortar a bit more and get the barrel to look not so real life metallike...it thus looks a bit too much off...otherwise a nice tank that suits the marines or a guard regiment quite well!

the wash yet again changed the look of the tank completly! it now really looks multitextured and like old and fresh new mud...almost as if you could hear the slurpy sounds of the mud making when the sabre is standing still...the shaky 80 looks also very dirty ...in a good way^^ it is litterally a trick of the eye to compare the fresh assembled model to the nearly finished one...

Thanks, I have also given the approach to a Chimera and will have pics of that up soon, as well as a fresh re-working of the MBT-90D

Yes, from that pristine clean whitish coloration to camo and mud-grime!

this washing surley takes a lot of the wash on the model...very resources consuming...but it sure is worth it as the outcome justifies the means^^

chimera would be cool that way... i imagine these as the grimiests as somehow i think they are the lowest of transports ...imagewise...

Well, it does eat up a lot of the Devlan Mud Wash, I am almost out of the fresh batch I bought! (GW and their tiny pots at 3.75 a pot!) But yes, one pot can pretty much wash a four to five tanks at most in this manner.Almost ready to load up the fresh pics!

have you considered moving to woodstain? the substance some peeps here use for dipping? you could aply it with a brush and the stains it leaves could work in your business... and it comes way cheaper...

Hmm, woodstain, yeah, that could do a platoon of tanks or two! And likely the same price as the one little GW pot! Army Painter's Dip wash is like 34dollars, but for 3-4 dollars I could have a 4ounce can of stain!

i think the dozerbalde could do well with some scratches next...and when looking at the chimeras trackssystem i think the fron looks a bit to clean in the peaks...do you know what i mean?
concerning the woodstain...one thing is fer sure, the devlan mud surley kicks the fresh painted tank into the age of used tanks in one go^^ i think in the end i too will give a cheap woodstain a go to see what can be achieved by a very low priced good...i have seen some nice models done that way... never but tanks...so you could be doing field research by this^^

I have been contemplating metal showing on the dozer blade in "scratches" Not sure what you mean the peaks? The flash may make it seem that way, but in normal lighting, in front of me she seems dirty enough Or should more "mud" have fallen off the treads to smudge the upper areas?

that! with peaks i meant the front triangled parts of the tracksystem each...i would expect a tad more mud to reach that height there...like when seen from the side of the tank it would be a giant mud smiley^^

With Oddballs like this and others mixed with Old Crow, My army is gonna be amazingly equipped!

it is a very cool looking and hightech model...is the scale right for 40k? the seats in the turret look a tad smallish? or is it just the pics? where is the model from?

That tank is the sister tank to the MBT-90D that i converted. the seats will take sentinel pilots! 1/48 scale is usable for 40K so I will have it as a Vanquisher, like the Mazurka(MBT-90D)

I also have a commander I could place in the turret as well. It looks so massive doesn't it?

I have to say the latest ones with the weathering have really improved them. Do you have any recommendations for an 8x8 APC kit?
