How are you getting 150 points for the Baal?
By the power of the typo. It's 140 on my list I just transcribed it wrong.
I see too few bodies.
I agree. They've really nerfed the hell out of the
BA list. At first I was so impressed with the price and stats on the Veteran Assault Squad that I didn't notice that everything else is way more expensive and less flexible than it used to be.
My old
BA list fielded many, many more models than this, generally had 10+
DC, and was almost unstoppable.
I suppose a nerf was in order, but they've gone nuts. No more Furious Charge, you now pay 35 points per
DC Marine, Combat Squad nerf, etc. etc. etc.
BA have gone from being one of the absolute top lists to low middle of the pack. That's a serious, serious nerf.
Anyway... It's 39 models with Jump Packs, and quite a few of them have 2A. There's also a lot of Power Fists. I think it'd be a decent list, mostly due to the shock value of it, but I'm hesitant to paint the models I need for it given my current loathing of Jervis Johnson and
GW.
You have 2 meltaguns and an assault cannon for anti-tank and no real ranged shooting.
For sure that's true. My old list had only 2 Las/
Plas squads, but they did enough, combined with Power Fists. I actually had pretty good luck taking out vehicles with Fists. I'm hoping this list can do it with Fists, Meltabombs, Meltaguns and Thunder Hammers.
How would one even get shooting into a
BA list at this point? Can't take Terms with dual AssCans... Can't take little Las/
Plas squads... Can't take
Devs cause they're as blatantly overpriced as always. There's just no useful way.
This Codex for sure gives a picture of what Space Marines Redux will be.
I mainly put this list up to see if anybody could tell me how to make it work. It looks like my BAs, which are probably my best painted army, are retiring.
As it so happens, my other big army that I play a lot is Dark Angels... Which I now play as Vanilla Marines, since the
DA Codex blows. And when they ruin the normal Marine list, there's one more list for me to retire.
Good call Jervis. I guess Marines were really ripping up the tourny scene, huh?
I've never seen a company work so hard to not earn my business.
