Slowly learning the ropes of Eldar. Generally employing a combined arms approach weighted towards mechanized or fast moving units.  In recent games against orks and IG my farseer on a bike has singlehandedly (albeit reluctantly) taken out two tanks and two Killa Kans.  I currently have two small bike squads for fire support/vehicle flank shots/VP

Becuase of this success of the farseer I have been contemplating getting adding a warlock to one of the Bike units.  This would give me an additional heavy vehicle killer and errant trooper/IC killer option with minimal additional cost.  Has anyone utilized this method and how effective has it been?

I have run a warlock with destructor & a spear along with a small unit of jetbikes. It has been rather successful. It's not a lot of points, and has good move&shoot potential. But, it's fragile, so you need to make sure your one hit counts and don't expose the unit before you're ready to hit with it.

Interesting. Do you use the unit for shooting purposes generally (ie stick and shoot with the shuricannon) or purely as a close firefight unit?

It depends what I'm facing.  If I'm facing something with a lot of power armour, it's probably a hide-all-game-and-score-an-objective-at-the-end unit.  Or try to go after transports/vehicle sides/rear.

If I'm facing Tau or guard, it's an assault unit that fires the destructor template and charges to clean up survivors.

Against nidzilla, I'll try to flank them and destructor some genestealers.

Cool. One more Q. I was contemplating this with a unit of three. Is that the general size you've been looking at?

I often use a warlock with my jet bike squad. The addition of a mobile heave flamer is a nice addition to the force. Eldar generaly don't make use of too many template weapons so people rarely see it comming.

3+warlock is an even number. Great for scoring purposes.

I also like the warlock + 3 jet bikes, any bigger than that and their alot harder to hide. However I would like to point out that the warlock costs nearly as much as the rest of the squad.
