So the idea of testing myself and trying to use my Orks in a KoS army again (after shelving them for some time) makes me a little happy. It gives me an excuse to try and paint some. I dunno, if I can go to the Baltimore GT I don't think I want to play Marines again so I may attempt to give this a go.

Here we go:

Warboss on Bike - 160 Points
Cybork Body, 'Eavy Armor, Bionic Bonce, Choppa, Power Klaw

16 Storm Boyz - 298 Points
Frags, Nob with Iron Gob and Power Klaw
Zaagstrukk - 55 Points

10 Trukk Boyz - 138 Points
Burna, Nob with Iron Gob and Power Klaw
Trukk - 40 Points
Rokkit, Red Paint Job, Grot Riggers

10 Trukk Boyz - 138 Points
Burna, Nob with Iron Gob and Power Klaw
Trukk - 40 Points
Rokkit, Red Paint Job, Grot Riggers

10 Trukk Boyz - 138 Points
Burna, Nob with Iron Gob and Power Klaw
Trukk - 40 Points
Rokkit, Red Paint Job, Grot Riggers

10 Trukk Boyz - 138 Points

Rokkit, Red Paint Job, Grot Riggers

10 Trukk Boyz - 138 Points

Trukk - 40 Points
Rokkit, Red Paint Job, Grot Riggers

10 Trukk Boyz - 138 Points
Burna, Nob with Iron Gob and Power Klaw
Trukk - 40 Points
Rokkit, Red Paint Job, Grot Riggers

Rokkit Buggy - 42 Points
Grot Riggers

Looted Demolisher - 160 Points
Hull Heavy Bolter, Grot Riggers, Red Paint Job

Battlewagon - 145 Points
Zaap Gun, Kustom Force Field, Grot Riggers, Red Paint Job

If there's terrain, I think it can work. I hope.

I have a friend here who plays KoS orcs and consistantly wins in Southern California against some top teir armies and some great generals. He pretty much always wins the local RTT's and the league he plays in against tough opponants. Ill see if i cant get his list and post it here for you to compare notes with.

Terrain will absolutely help, however, the 4th edition vehicle rules (especially the entanglement) really seems to hurt the KOS trukk heavy list.  I would recommend going with as many bikes as possible.  I only saw 2 (out of 80) ork lists at the Baltimore GD.  I don't know how they did, but this is just my prediction that you won't see too many KOS competitive tourney lists.  I could be wrong, and it wouldn't be the first time.

Remember, even if you get close, all the opponent needs to do is pop that trukk and you are a sitting duck for TWO turns of enemy fire.  Be forewarned!

I don't think you have enough cheap units. Lose a trukk and bring a mekkopta and two more buggies gives you more stuff to move around, block lines of fire, screen the boss and claim objectives.

Red paint on your trukks is wasted. The cost/benefit ratio is off. (3 points out of 30 is a 10% cost increase. The extra inch gives you less than a 10% move bonus, less than 5% when moving over 12") I've never been in a situation where one extra inch of trukk movement would make a difference. Keep it on the russ and battlewagon though, as the extra inch while still being allowed to fire is huge, as is only being hit on '6's in assault while still being able to fire.

I also don't think you need the Gobs on your Nobs. With the free rally when you make it back to a trukk, and the battlewagon as an emergency fallback point, you should be good to go - unless you're being massacred, but if that's the case, the extra Ld probably isn't a factor.

Seven Gobs is about 40 points, which is a skorcha buggy.

Running zagstrukk and a nob is questionable in the stormboy unit. If nothing else, I'd clear that with the judge before running it. If they rule against you, I'd drop the unit altogether, as they're not going to make their points back. I don't know the exact wording, but it's usually appeared to me that Zaggy is the Nob for his squad.

One thing I've had success with is a very small unit of outriders (2 bikes + nob) with the nob equipped the same way as your warboss. It makes for an expensive unit, but you're able to turbo-boost on your scout move, and end up almost always getting a first turn charge. The nob is almost as good as the warboss in this role, and gets there first, so he can take out shooty units early.

Finally, I don't think that a demolisher is as good in a kult list as a standard leman. The demolisher, like everything else, forces you to get close to use it. It isn't like you don't have plenty of ways to handle 2+ save models with choppas and powerklaws. The range advantage on the standard Russ can enable you to sit back for a turn or two and hammer your opponent, forcing them to make some moves. You can take those 10 points and buy HB sponsons too, so that once your big gun is shot off, you still have some credible firepower left.

But, as already mentioned, hope that there's terrain. I finished in the Top ten at the adepticon gladiator w/ my Kult of Speed list, but they had a lot of terrain on those tables compared to what I've seen in pictures from the GTs.
