Tau Fire Warriors begin to set up defenses around the tactical command center just bellow the bridge and deploy heavy weaponry and barricades to slow the marines advance.

Marius takes the pistol but hears Argosh's vox come through his comm feed, clearly the Nocturnean thought he was a friend, he looks at Pyriel briefly who also seems to have caught the transmission, he shakes his head and growls. Marius grabs the champion by the neck, who is even now getting up, and lifts him high into the air, Marius takes the bolt pistol and fires point blank into the traitors chest, and then takes his sword andgoing through the weakend section of armour rends a great tar from chet to neck and then through his head, splitting the champion in two. visceral matter splattering him Maiurs contemptuously flicks the body aside, "Mikal, Pyriel, FOR THE EMPEROR!!!!!"

"It seems Argosh now wants to kill me. Why do the Imperials have to take such drastic action. I just said he was disposable," I walk out into the corridoor with my rail rifle ready, and my pulse rifle on my back.

I send a message to Argosh.

The furious charge of the Imperials is met by little resistance as the Chaos Marines and their Daemonic allies retreat or flee into the icy structures or ancient towers that surround the area refusing to continue their assault without a Champion or powerful Psycher to lead them against the Imperials. Eventually, the combined forces are able to drive off the chaos survivors and the area is cleared.

Mikal, not being able to overhear at least some of the conversation, interjects.

"Enough of this! We cannot afford to continue to bicker amongst ourselves like orks! It sounds like someone in the imperial fleet is trying to confuse messages in order to get us to turn on each other, we cannot allow this."

[There is no need for this battle between allies, all this talk of traitors and backstabbing is making us all paranoid, no shots have been fired yet, let the squabbling end now and go through with the plan. Argosh, you may get your chance at redemption but you must cooperate. Shas, if Argosh will not cooperate then you know what you have to do. Go through with the plan or we all die, nevermind what Imperial communications say, let me deal with them.]

Mikal cuts the link and turns to Marius. "Brother, you cannot get so worked up about things happening up there. We are here for a job, and whether the part of the plan up there works or not is in the hands of the Emperor, just like it is down here. Please brother, concentrate on the task at hand."

Mikal turns to the troops. "Get ready to move out in two minutes, gather your kit, we're moving!"

In the insuring Chaos of the Com channels the Dark Eldar ships appear and begin to attack with precise strikes causing damage to the Imperial and Tau ships engines.

The Salamanders attack does not go as planned as Fire Warriors gun down the attacking Salamander marines within minutes but some Salamanders are able to score kills against the Tau.
