Are the paintable figures for SST going away? Being replaced by prepaints?

Is there a paint guide for painting the light infantry? I would love to know what paints were used for the green grey of the uniform.

Thanks for any answers.

.Only a fool believes there is such a thing as price gouging. Things have value determined by the creator or merchant. If you don't agree with that value, you are free not to purchase.

The paintable figures are going, but they are going away slowly.

You can pick these figures up on E bay, and across the country in your local gaming stores. They say they are not going to make more, but the just came out with a Fleet Landing Party, so I wonder if they are really going to rethink this prepaint crap.

There is a painting guide, and Mongoose has it in color, as well. It shows both the MI light infantry ( The guys from the movies) and the Cap Troopers ( The guys from Roughnecks: Starship Trooper Chronicals)

Over on the Mongoose Websight, there is the painting guide, under the Starship Troopers line. ( Of course you can pick this one up in your used book store, or your local Game Store for a song and a dance.)

I used the movies and the CGI show for references, as well.

Prime them black,
For the Light Infantry, ( Movie) I used Codex Grey, Black, and some light details in bestial brown. If not, use Catachan Green with some black mixed in for the details. ( Web gear, pouches, and holsters) shoulder pads can be highlighted with some boltgun metal, for some battle damage around the edges, or scar the pads for some damage, and mix a little blood with crimson, or scorpion green for some goo/ human blood splatters.

Weapons were catachan green, and boltgun metal and faces and skin in flesh/ flesh wash

Highlight the grey with a slightly lighter shade, or just a little skull white to the grey for a 2 layer grey color to the uniforms. ( adds a little dimension to the model as well.)

gl hope that helps.
