Are the buildings made of parts that can stack, or is it strictly lock and glue and suitable mostly for ruins? How viable is it for making multi-level terrain?

Its pretty damned modular, dude. Think of it this way, if I can make this Dice mill out of the COD kits: Then I am sure you can make whatever you heart fancies.

One warning, since they come 'pre ruined' building intact buildings can be a challenge. However they fit almost prefectly with Peagsus GOthic buildings. http://www.pbase.com/kidkyoto/image/69135963

I really like this one:
http://www.pbase.com/kidkyoto/image/70940061
How many pegasus sets did that take?
From a gaming perspective, do you make multiple exits?
Do you think it works much better without the tabs and with the plasticard floorings?

Oh another question, how stable are the structures after you've cut the tabs and are resting the upper levels on the lower ones?

The ziggaurat took about one kit, I many have used bits from two but it, or something close could be done with one. This picture shows exactly one kit worth of material http://www.pbase.com/kidkyoto/image/64258328 I keep the tabs when I stack levels and use model cement, they're very touch once assembled. The ziggaurat is the only one where the different levels are not on top of each other so they're just glued to the plasticard. It's still stable though. The main problem is when you have one or two sections too few but I find I can usually put in some plasticard for a wall like in this one http://www.pbase.com/kidkyoto/image/67341317 or these warehouses http://www.pbase.com/kidkyoto/image/70940051 The kits only come with one set of doors but I think the windows can clearly function as entry/exit points as well. I only got one of the GW building kits but I think that suplimented with the Cities O Death stuff you can make some amazing buildings.

Hm...
I just cut the tabs off my piece. I'm going to put plasticard on the roof of each section to provide for flooring for the level above. That way I can access the minis inside by lifting the whole building or section.
It's basically an upside down support system (like how most buildings are built with a base beneath them for support).
I also think I'm going to avoid putting the decorative torches and gargoyles on most of the buildings. By leaving them flat I would be able to put them flush up against one another.
I think each roof (floor) will have a hatch model provided by the Platformer terrain stuff.
To get the buildings I want, I think three or four of these kits should be sufficient.
Have you painted any of it yet?

An additional idea:
Build sections with missing panels, or try to crack one in half. Or maybe just use a City of Death Sprue for broken sections of the buildings.
This would allow easy entrance/exit.
So for my modular Gothic Buildings:
1) Cubes with decorated corners for tower tops. Gargoyles and such.
2) 1x2s, some with a ruined/missing panel.
3) Letter T sections (4 cubes sorta) with an opening on one end.
4) I want my own ziggurat. I worry about my plasticard caving in, though, so I'd probably need to put some card underneath for supports.
5) Model a hatchway onto most of the roofs both for detailing and gameplay. Probably just end up stealing them from the Platformer kits.
6) Ruined sections using Cities of Death but leave a footprint in some tiles big enough to put some of the buildings in and surround with rubble.

Platformer rectangular panels almost fit perfectly side by side as doors.

Hey, Felix, tell KK I said 1) Hi 2) Most craft stores have DIY table-top fountain kits, and I think that building is crying out to have one at the top.

Ah.
I picked up some textured paint at the craft store. Think that'll turn out horrible?
