I only go to YMDC when I have a question. I post it, and folow that thread only.
The skimming I did of the Valkyrie thread further reinforced that choice.
I play many rulesets from many companies and historical periods.
Almost all of them have a section/rule for disputes. Most involve rolling a d6/d10 or flipping a coin.
It is only when 40k is discussed that the d6 rule is trotted out as the 8th deadly sin
Nearly every game has discussion boards with arguments over rule "problems".
I was surprised to see all the hyperbolic comments on the Warmachine boards about how broken certain things are, considering how solid I thought the rules were.

The valkyrie thread was an awful one. However, this was a circumstance where the rules as written were directly opposed to how the model would be played. These are the threads that get messy but this is, at least somewhat, inevitable as there is no correct answer to conclude the thread.

Yes, but that's because GW don't care about how a model interacts with rules or fluff, as long as it sells, because it looks cool.

No there were posters directlysaying some of these methods should be how it should be played.

I think he meant that there was no way the RAW allowed the model to be played the way common sense dictates, if followed strictly.
