some day i will get around to build my few AOBR orks as well...

i think if your that good with painting thin layers of color to the models then you have got to have the just right amount of paint for a good layer and diluted it just as well with enough water....maybe i think yellow is so hard because i seem to not getting it right watering down paints.... eiter to much or to less water... works crappy both ends...

'night, and because I don't want to be doing a 3rd SM army, I'm only gonna paint about 20 guys IF, and join them to my raven guard.

Yep. 5 TH/SS termies, lysander and some devastators.

BTW I'll be spraying the army all through this week in spare evenings and weekends.
I'll post pics when they're sprayed and dry.

P.S: shopping list- apparently the stormraven is up for advance order wednesday.

AFAIK I still can't put up pics, but I'm getting a IT-nut friend to look at it, and failing that I'll use my mum's PC.
The pics of the army and characters will be posted in the article, and the WIP shots will be posted in the comments.

Either this weekend or the next. He has work in weekdays.
The IF marine is pretty much done, and I'm probably going to do a diorama-type thing. I'm thinking a rubble-strewn ruin, with LOTR WOTR bases so I can take the IF off and on. It'll probably be 3 IF TH/SS termies, 3-4 PA guys and maybe a captain/librarian.
I still need to build the marines, but I'm out of plastic glue.
The shopping list will be delayed 1-2 weeks because I'm gonna get Xbox live.
I'm waiting on scopes and plasticard for the snipers, and I need to decide on a name.
I'll be also getting the FW raven guard etched brass and transfer sheet, so a further delay of about 3 weeks.
the ruins and LOTR trays will be bought after at least the trenches and DKoK engineers are bought, so no delay there.

hmm i really like dioramas...will you do an enemy squad of sorts to make it more dynamic? and if so what kind of enemy would that be?

nids or orks i wouldl guess or choas, cant get far wrong with a bit of chaos...

Teeny weeny update- the IF guy is painted. I might paint gloss over the eye lenses, but apart from that, he's done. Don't expect anything wonderful, but it's my best-painted tactical marine. That isn't saying much, since all my others are just black with painted boltguns, shouler trim and eyes. No washes, extra detail, varnishes, nothing. This IF guy has.
What model to use as my captain...I want him to be smaller than a warrior, so no termie armour, and maybe a power sword and storm shield...
I'll convert one.

just don´t use the AOBR one as he is kind o stupid looking...i always thought...

by the way have you considered buying cadians from your ebay uk? tehre is always something on there and i could literally buy our family starvingly poor there...and it is way cheaper to buy from brits than from germans as the range and amount of wargamestuff in uk ebay is far more...
you could save yourself some hard money there...

well-
-xbox is on there coz' I want to say there'll be a gap in 40k-buying.
-cyclopses (or is it cyclops or cyclopsi?^^) are AV 10/10/10 demo charges, controlled by a single DKoK infrantryman with CCW nad lasgun. If he dies, it counts as immobilised.
-I'm gonna be plasticarding mine to actually have a back.
-I'm gonna be buying the 20 cadians and CCS from my friend, next-door neighbor and fellow dakkaite andyroo9000.
-oh and shrike is dissapointed. Shrike got told to use 2mm plasticard rods for bolter suppressors, and the 2mm supressors are the size of the barrel- too small.
-shrike will have to spend another £3 to get more plasticard.

I'll try be more creative by cutting a teeny slice off a hollow lollipop stick, and see if it fits. If not, GS.

hmm i just guess it will warp and aslo it will probably be to big... instead GS use here and use very thin things like ballpen inkmines and so forth for impresions...thats should look more the part...you could go funky and do a rectangular monocle...that would be something new...
