I have a chance to pick up some really cheap raiders, but they're missing the back fin. Do you think it would be possible to come up with something to substitute back there without it looking too hokey? I can't really think of any way to do it, but I'm not much of a modeler myself. Any ideas?

I hear the word plasticard a lot, but I'm not sure what it is or where to get it. Help?

you can order the spues separate i think ? from GW. that could get expensive , me i would get some one (more artistic than shrew) to draw a pattern trace it to plastic card & cut it out. you can get plastic card thin enuff to cut it w/ heavy sicissors. then decorate it the way you want . thats the way i saw one DE player do it. looked cool ! & in your case definately cheaper.hope that helps!!

athansor, most hobby shops carry it model railroad type shops anyway. its plastic in different thicknesses & widths some as thin as paper. if the store has it some one there should be able to help.

hmmm, cool. I can try my hand at cutting that stuff up. Won't be no grand piano but I can try and make it passable. Tough to turn down 20 bucks for a raider otherwise.

On another note, I checked eBay, and from the Raider auctions I can find, I'm not sure it's worth the trouble. I've seen Raiders, especially incomplete and painted ones, go for significantly cheaper than what's up for grabs at the moment. If you wait a while, I'm fairly certain you could get a better deal. Just a thought.

Probably not a bad idea. especially since after doing the math, the 20% off at thewarstore really isn't all that much more, and it's for brand new models. I just need to figure out how much painting I think I can do in one stretch...
