Last year when GW came out with their resin basing kit, I kept thinking - that's such a cool idea.  Then it sold out.  As a solution, I've created a set of resin cast Gears & Pistons that can be piled onto bases in the same fashion.  The 12 piece kit provides enough bits for 6-10 bases.

The gears were created by making impressions in clay & casting the voids in resin.  The piston pieces are plastic card & tubing.  Once the clay was cleaned off of the gear pieces, a RTV mold was made to allow for multiple kits.

Many of the parts are a bit larger than a standard 25mm base & take a bit of trimming to fit.

All 12 parts layed out.

60mm objective marker/character base made from a similar set of parts.

Cool.  They look a little big for 25mm bases, but still a good idea.
